ROUNDUP: Porrello’s goal lifts Centennial boys past Faith Lutheran
Joey Porrello scored the winning goal with just more than seven minutes remaining Thursday to lift Centennial’s boys soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Faith Lutheran at Community Park.
Chance Rosa assisted on Porrello’s winner, which came after the Crusaders had rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to tie the match.
Matt Kurtz and Grant Gonzales scored to give the Bulldogs their 2-0 lead. Rosa had two assists.
D.K. Hicks and Alex Gregoriv each had a goal for Faith Lutheran.
Arbor View 2, Cimarron-
Memorial 0 — At Arbor View, Johnny Mayorga and Kyle Withoft scored second-half goals as the Aggies downed the Spartans.
Arbor View goalkeeper Richie Garness made eight saves to earn the shutout.
Shadow Ridge 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Juan Gutierrez had a goal and an assist to help the Mustangs top the Desert Shields.
Sylvae Washington and Arturo Gonzales also scored for Shadow Ridge.
Jackson Collins had Cheyenne’s goal.
Legacy 4, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Julio Uribe scored three goals as the Longhorns pulled away from the Rattlers.
