ROUNDUP: Renteria’s late goal pushes Palo Verde boys to tie with Longhorns
Eduardo Renteria’s goal with six minutes remaining in the second-half Friday to allow Palo Verde’s boys soccer team to earn a 1-1 tie at Legacy.
Antonio Velazquez converted a first-half penalty kick for the Longhorns’ goal.
Centennial 5, Arbor View 0 — At Centennial, Eric Sanchez knocked in two goals, and Sean Jenne, Phillip Hopper and Mason Panos each scored a goal to lead the Bulldogs past the Aggies.
Andres Perez had two assists, and Aiden Parker earned the shutout for Centennial.
Del Sol 5, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Randy Delemos tallied three goals as the Dragons topped the Diamondbacks.
Angel Castillo and Gerardo Aguilar also scored for Del Sol.
Tristan Schoonmaker had Desert Oasis’ goal.
Faith Lutheran 7, Holbrook (Ariz.) 1 — At Show Low, Ariz., Harut Khachoyan and Tristan Tomburo each had two goals to help the Crusaders earn a berth in the semifinals of the Show Low Invitational with a win over Holbrook.
Sam Stevens had a goal and an assist, and D’Khari Hicks and Brian Kormanowski also scored for Faith Lutheran.
Faith Lutheran 4, Payson (Ariz.) 2 — At Show Low, Ariz., Hicks had three goals and an assist to power the Crusaders past Payson in the tournament opener.
Stevens added a goal and an assist for Faith Lutheran.
GIRLS
Centennial 4, Arbor View 1 — At Arbor View, Paris Gonzales, Samantha McLaughlin and Danielle Farano each had a goal and an assist to help the Bulldogs break a 1-1 halftime tie to down the Aggies.
Shanelle McDonnell also scored for Centennial.
Alexis Pryor tallied Arbor View’s goal.
Palo Verde 4, Coronado 1 — At Coronado, Serenity Grim scored twice to help the Panthers top the Cougars.
Lana Laudermilch and Autumn Alderson each added a goal for Palo Verde.
Breanna McCallum scored for Coronado.
