ROUNDUP: Rivera, Corona lead Desert Pines boys past Patriots
Luis Rivera and Genaro Corona each scored two goals as Desert Pines earned a 4-3 home victory over Liberty on Thursday in boys soccer.
Corona’s second goal broke a 2-2 tie, and Rivera’s second goal gave the Jaguars a 4-2 lead.
Danny Musovski had two goals and an assist to lead Liberty. Keaton Smith scored the other goal, and
Joseph Hollimon had two assists for the Patriots.
Faith Lutheran 2, Clark 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Sam Stevens scored two goals in the first-half to lead the Crusaders past the Chargers.
Carter Bishop made five saves to get the shutout, and D’Khari Hicks assisted on both goals for Faith Lutheran.
Bishop Gorman 2, Vianney (Mo.) 1 — At St. Louis, Blake Balelo’s goal with 20 minutes remaining broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Gaels past Vianney in the opening round of the Gateway City Soccer Classic.
Balelo also assisted on Anton Trott’s first-half goal.
Chaparral 1, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Cowboys and Miners played to a tie.
Luis Olantez scored on an assist from Enrique Pedraza for Sunrise Mountain.
Gerado Skewes scored an unassisted goal for Chaparral.
Mojave 3, The Meadows 1 — At The Meadows, Lemuel Dyck scored two goals for the Rattlers in a victory over the Mustangs.
Moises Ferryra added a goal for Mojave.
Austin Lee scored for The Meadows.
Western 7, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Western, Luis Ponce had two goals and three assists, and the Warriors used six second-half goals to pull away from the Trojans.
Miguel Inanez and Fernando Caro each had two goals, and Cesar Carranza scored once for Western.
Hiram Castro tallied both of Pahrump’s goals.
Cimarron-Memorial 6, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Oso Valencia had two goals and an assist as the Spartans pulled away from the Diamondbacks.
Riley Johnson and Garrick Quackenbush each added two goals for Cimarron, which led 2-1 at halftime.
Herson Ramirez scored for Desert Oasis.
Tech 7, Virgin Valley 0 — At Tech, Salvador Garcia scored two goals, and Julio Vargas had a goal and three assists to help the Roadrunners rout the Bulldogs.
Gerardo Castillo added a goal and an assist for Tech, which also got goals from Fabian Vera, Hugo Flores and Rafael Valdez.
Goalkeepers Christian Mojarro and Daniel Orozco combined on the shutout.
Boulder City 3, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, the Eagles got goals from three different players to defeat the Pirates.
Nicholas Walker, Yann Moncayo and Victor Andrades each scored goals for the Eagles.
Cheyenne 5, Adelson School 1 — At Cheyenne, Jose Zapata and Omar Garcia each had a goal and an assist to help the Desert Shields defeat the Lions.
Terrence Tambeagor, Victor Sosa and Hugo Gonzalez each added a goal for Cheyenne.
Mendi Berrebi scored for Adelson.
