ROUNDUP: Tech’s Corona scores six goals in rout of Basic
Esteban Corona scored a school-record six goals Wednesday to lead Tech’s boys soccer team to a 7-0 home win over Basic.
Azhael Thirion also scored for Tech.
Goalkeepers Edgar Belazquiz and Edgar Preciado combined on the shutout for the Roadrunners.
Silverado 2, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Devin Diego scored twice to lift the Skyhawks over the Falcons.
Justin Close posted the shutout for Silverado.
Del Sol 1, Coronado 0 — At Del Sol, Miguel Castro headed in a corner kick with about four minutes remaining to lift the Dragons past Coronado.
Del Sol goalkeeper Gerardo Hernandez had five saves in the shutout.
Green Valley 4, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, the Gators scored four times in the first half to roll to the win.
Mitch Anderson scored twice for the Gators. Rodrigo Medina and Alex Wonnaparahown added a goal apiece.
Ace Evans made five saves to earn the shutout.
Cheyenne 2, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Cheyenne scored in the final minute to tie the Mustangs.
Geovany Martinez and Victor Ramos scored for the Desert Shields.
Jacob Ewing and Alfredo Mendoza scored for Shadow Ridge.
Palo Verde 3, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, the Panthers scored two goals in the second half to down the Rattlers.
Josh Leiserowitz had a goal and two assists. Frankie Rivero and Matt Polster also scored for Palo Verde.
Mojave’s Luis Gutierrez scored three minutes into the match.
Legacy 1, Arbor View 1 — At Legacy, Julio Uribe scored the tying goal in the second half as the Longhorns and Aggies played to a draw.
Niko Johnson scored in the first half for Arbor View.
