Outlook: The Desert Shields welcome back eight starters from a team that placed third in the Sunset League behind perennial powers Pahrump Valley and Faith Lutheran.

Leslie Rodriguez had 23 goals, and Laurenco added six goals and 16 assists last year.

“Our team is young this year,” Knutsen said. “We have several returning starters that should keep us competitive. We expect to compete for a playoff spot this season and challenge every team we face.”
