GIRLS SOCCER: Grim’s three goals lift Panthers past Gators

Serenity Grim netted three goals Friday to lift Palo Verde’s girls soccer team to a season-opening 5-1 win at Green Valley.

Jadyn Nogues had a goal and two assists, and Macee Barlow also scored for the Panthers, who led only 1-0 at the half.

Cat Chamberlin scored for the Gators.

Rancho 10, Western 2 — At Rancho, Chanel Eliason and Jasmine Marin each had two goals and two assists as the Rams routed the Warriors.

Yesenia Godoy had two goals and an assist, and Brenda Torrez-Chavez added a goal and three assists for Rancho, which got a goal and an assist each from Carina Cortez and Morgan Wilson. Andrea Ambriz also scored for Rancho.

Guadalupe Herrera and Ellyson Reynada scored for Western.

Tech 2, Basic 0 — At Basic, Abrana Wielgosiak and Adriana Guzman each had a goal as the Roadrunners blanked the Wolves.

Monica Figerora had both assists for Tech, which got a four-save shutout from Elena Duenas.

Las Vegas 7, Del Sol 0 — At Las Vegas, Mackenzie McCoy had two goals to lead the Wildcats to an easy win over the Dragons.

Lizbeth Camacho, Lizette Camacho, Jeelain Calvo, Osmara Nunez and Angelica Aniciete each had goal for Las Vegas.

Briana Alarcon made one save on her way to a shutout.
