GIRLS SOCCER: Petty’s late goal gives Pirates tie with Desert Pines
Kiersten Petty’s goal with five minutes remaining in the match Tuesday allowed host Moapa Valley’s girls soccer team to tie Desert Pines, 4-4.
Makayla Jackson scored twice, and Rachel Paystrup added a goal for the Pirates.
Genessis Martinez and Selena Rodriguez had two goals apiece for the Jaguars.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Jaymee Luke scored twice to help the Spartans edge the Bengals.
Hailey Hughes added a goal for the Spartans, and Maile Pinier had two assists.
Megan Cousineau and Hannah Webster each had a goal for Bonanza.
Western 2, Mojave 0 — At Western, Ellyson Reynada had a goal and an assist to lead the Warriors by the Rattlers.
Alejandra Gonzalez added a goal, and Stephanie Delgadillo recorded the shutout for Western.
Virgin Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Mesquite, Marlene Quiarte, Abbie Barnum and Emily Lara each had a goal as the Bulldogs blanked the Miners.
Spencer Green made two saves en route to the shutout.
Desert Oasis 0, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, the Diamondbacks’ Tiara Rosenberg and the Bulldogs’ Karlee Edwards each posted a shutout as the teams played to a scoreless tie.
Cheyenne 5, Clark 2 — At Clark, Jocelyn Vasquez and Girly Tambeagbor each scored twice to lead the Desert Shields by the Chargers.
Emily Gutierrez also scored, and Josie Lourenco had three assists for Cheyenne.
Alyanna Harina and Eyker Millan scored for Clark.
Bishop Gorman 9, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Kaila Brinkman had three goals and an assist as the Gaels routed the Longhorns.
Daisy Cabrera had two goals and an assist, and Hannah Borgel added a goal and two assists for Gorman. Nadia Leal and Corynne McEachern each supplied a goal and an assist, and McKayla Philippi also scored for the Gaels.
Faith Lutheran 9, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson School, Dani Theraldson scored three goals to help the Crusaders cruise past the Lions.
Kristi Chinn added two goals and an assist, and Morgan Bracey had a goal and three assists for Faith Lutheran, which also got goals from Kayla Murai, Jamie McInelly and Megan Donnelly.
Tech 10, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Alex Guzman had four goals and three assists, and Abrana Wielgosiak added four goals and an assist as the Roadrunners blitzed the Cowboys.
Adriana Guzman had a goal and two assists, and Clarisa Szluha also scored for Tech, which got two assists apiece from Monica Figerora and Rebeca Rivera.
Elena Duenas was in goal for the shutout.
