GIRLS SOCCER: Second-half goals send Bulldogs past Sunrise Mountain
Karla Correa and Marlene Quirarte each scored a second-half goal Monday to help Virgin Valley’s girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over visiting Sunrise Mountain.
Spencer Green made five saves to earn the shutout for the Bulldogs.
Chaparral 1, Boulder City 1 — At Boulder City, Chaparral’s Leticia Ibarra scored the tying goal with 20 minutes left as the Cowboys and Eagles played to a draw.
Jordyn Trobiani scored early in the second half for Boulder City.
Desert Pines 1, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Fatima Olea-Maturano scored with about five minutes to play to give the Jaguars the win over the Pirates.
Maribel Mejia recorded the shutout.
Valley 4, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Kayla Steiner scored three goals to lead the Vikings by the Rattlers.
Georgia Gardner also scored for Valley.
Evelyn Anaya scored for Mojave.
Bishop Gorman 4, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Arlie Jones had a goal and an assist to power the Gaels over the Mustangs.
Gianna Gourley, Jensen Garcia and Hannah Borgel each added a goal for Gorman, and Isabel Rolley added two assists.
Kirsten Kircher and Emilie Hong combined on the shutout.
Palo Verde 6, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Macee Barlow scored twice to lead the Panthers by the Longhorns.
Hailey Calhoun, Jadyn Nogues and Hannah Gunderson each had a goal and an assist, and Trinity Carnell also scored for Palo Verde.
Quincy Lee made three saves en route to the shutout.
Green Valley 7, Eldorado 0 — At Green Valley, Maggie Bender had a goal and an assist to help the Gators defeat the Sundevils.
Chela Anglin, Hailey Thomas, Kameryn Camp, Lianna Soifua, Alexis Kirson and Jazlyn Hall each added a goal for Green Valley.
Ryan Sabol and Kiyana Lopez combined on the shutout.
Coronado 8, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Olivia Meza had four goals, and Taylor Kornieck added three goals and three assists as the Cougars routed the Rams.
Destiny Simpson had a goal and three assists for Coronado.
Rachel Morris was in goal for the shutout.
Tech 9, Del Sol 0 — At Heritage Park, Melissa Lopez had three goals and an assist, and Veronica Gonzales added two goals and two assists to lead the Roadrunners by the Dragons.
Alysia Mestas had a goal and two assists, and Valerie Webb had a goal and an assist for Tech, which also got goals from Maria Garcia-Silva and Estephania Perez.
Perez and Lisette Sanchez combined on the shutout.
Foothill 11, Basic 0 — At Foothill, Myriah Epino had seven goals and an assist as the Falcons routed the Wolves.
Rae Burrell scored two goals, and Katherine Ballou had a goal and five assists for Foothill, which also got a goal from Jessica Carnahan.
