GIRLS SOCCER: Tech’s Lopez nets two goals, Roadrunners down Sundevils
Tech’s Melissa Lopez scored two goals as the Roadrunners defeated visiting Eldorado 3-2 in girls soccer on Tuesday.
Veronica Gonzales added a goal and an assist for Tech, which led 2-0 at the half.
Brianna Duran had both goals for Eldorado.
Palo Verde 1, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Macee Barlow scored in the second half as the Panthers nipped the Crusaders in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.
Savannah Ornelas made two saves to get the shutout.
Green Valley 3, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Green Valley, Alexis Kirson scored two goals to lead the Gators by the Mustangs in the Las Vegas Kick-Off.
Talia Lopez also scored, and Maggie Bender had two assists for Green Valley.
Camdyn Grant scored for Shadow Ridge.
Virgin Valley 1, Basic 1 — At Basic, Kallie Graves’ goal with two minutes to play allowed the visiting Bulldogs to rally for a tie with the Wolves.
Darby Cox scored a second-half goal for Basic.
Bonanza 0, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, the Bengals and Mountain Lions played to a scoreless draw.
Bonanza goalkeeper Alicia Kestner had seven saves to earn the shutout.
Jayla Olsen made five saves for Sierra Vista.
Coronado 4, Centennial 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Olivia Meza scored three goals to help propel the Cougars past the Bulldogs.
Taylor Kornieck added a goal and an assist for Coronado, which led 2-0 at halftime. Rachel Morris (2 saves) and Shannon Heenan (1 save) combined on the shutout.
Foothill 8, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Katherine Ballou scored three goals, and Myriah Epino added two goals and an assist as the Falcons routed the Skyhawks.
Rae Burrell had a goal and an assist, and Paityn Toohey and Elizabeth Richter also scored for Foothill, which got two assists from Rachel Neff.
Lauren Morrell scored for Silverado.
Arbor View 5, Las Vegas 0 — At Green Valley, Karissa Martinez scored twice, and Hannah Ferrara added a goal an assist as the Aggies blanked the Wildcats.
Allyssa Larkin and Bailee Davis each had a goal for Arbor View, which got five saves from goalkeeper Haylee Niemann.
Pahrump Valley 5, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Trojans scored three goals in the second half to pull away from the Miners.
Sydney Dennis, Paige Chaffee, Veniah Vitto, Autumn Chaffee and Jamie Murphy each scored for Pahrump.
Brisa Pena-Martinez had a goal for Sunrise Mountain.
