ROUNDUP: Bengals slip past Durango to notch first win
Bree Hammel’s first-half goal Friday was enough to propel Bonanza’s girls soccer team to its first win of the year, a 1-0 victory over visiting Durango.
Keirsten Phillips and Anna Realmato combined on the shutout for the Bengals.
Western 0, Spring Valley 0 — At Western, the Warriors and Grizzlies played to a scoreless tie.
Western’s Tiara Johnson made six saves.
Megan Delaney made five saves for Spring Valley.
Bishop Gorman 7, Clark 1 — At Clark, Ashley Thomson scored twice, and Gorman opened up with five second-half goals to cruise past the Chargers.
Mia Moore had a goal and two assists for the Gaels, who also got goals from Amanda Kaufman, Courtney Beckwith, Alyssa Campagna and Megan Wasiak.
Nicole Plecko scored Clark’s lone goal.
Centennial 7, Cheyenne 1 — At Centennial, Jordyn Rolling and Niki Romero scored two goals apiece to lead the Bulldogs past the Desert Shields.
Jordan Sgro, Sophie Krauza and Sienna Drizin also scored for Centennial, and teammate Paris Gonzalez logged four assists.
Samantha Floyd scored a second-half goal for Cheyenne, which trailed 4-0 at halftime.
Palo Verde 2, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Tatiana Pagan had a goal and an assist as the Panthers downed the Longhorns.
Kylie Day also scored for Palo Verde.
Stacie Gubler made six saves to earn the shutout.
Shadow Ridge 8, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Jessica Scarpati scored three goals as Shadow Ridge routed the Rattlers.
Vanessa Pena and Taylor Lopez each scored twice for Shadow Ridge, and Kelsey Priest added a goal and two assists.
Megan Brown made four saves to record the shutout.
