ROUNDUP: Montoya helps Tech hand Gators first in-state loss
Rachael Montoya spotted Tech’s girls soccer team a 1-0 lead with a first-half goal Tuesday, and the visiting Roadrunners held on to stun Green Valley, 3-2.
Aurora Aermenta and Maci Fix also scored for Tech, which improved to 5-4-2 in Southeast League play.
The Gators, who lost to a Nevada team for the first time this season, made a second-half push but came up short.
Alissa Villamor and Cassidy McLeon provided goals for Green Valley, which fell to 9-1-1 in league play and into a tie for first place with Silverado.
Rancho 2, Chaparral 1 — Jocelyn Mancias’ goal in the final minute of the match Tuesday lifted Rancho past Chaparral.
Stephanie Apodaca had a goal and an assist for the Rams, who maintained a three-point margin over Eldorado for first place in the Northeast League.

Canyon Springs 5, Valley 0 — At Canyon Springs, Amber Rosenberg had three goals and an assist to power the Pioneers past Valley.
Diamond Miller and Jazmine Eshleman also scored for Canyon Springs.
Haleigh Arnold made seven saves to earn the shutout.
Eldorado 2, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Maria Bonsignore and Katelyn Comeno each had a goal as Eldorado blanked the Miners.
Chynna Hartman made five saves to record the shutout for the Sundevils.
Las Vegas 2, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Abby Rodriguez and Danica Pickett each scored a goal to lift the visiting Wildcats past the Jaguars.
Alex Luna and Allie Hammer combined on the shutout for Las Vegas.
Liberty 2, Foothill 0 — At Liberty, Gina Candalario and Paige Terlizzi had a goal apiece as the Patriots blanked Foothill.
