Roundup: Shadow Ridge’s Tieg Simmons makes 8 saves to shut out Centennial
Tieg Simmons made eight saves Wednesday to preserve a 1-0 victory for Shadow Ridge’s girls soccer team against host Centennial.
Samantha Villa scored Shadow Ridge’s lone goal, unassisted with 20 minutes remaining in the game.
Western 2, Mojave 0 — At Western, Devany Marroquin supplied a goal and an assist as the Warriors downed the Rattlers.
Gissell Rodriguez also scored for Western, which got an assist from Caro Acosta.
Goalkeeper Nicole Declaro earned the shutout for the Warriors.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Legacy 2 — At Legacy, Samantha Silva scored all the Spartans’ goals in their victory over the Longhorns.
Isabella Skrinjaric and Gabriella Lancaster scored for Legacy.
Las Vegas 5, Eldorado 1 — At Las Vegas High, Alba Trujillo-Hinojosa had two goals, and Atziri Avila had two assists as the Wildcats pulled away from the Sundevils.
Maria Hernandez scored for the Wildcats, as did Anna Bowen and Natalie Gennuso.
Mia Ostler scored Eldorado’s goal.
Arbor View 7, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Arbor View, Hannah Ferrara recorded two goals and two assists as the Aggies rolled by the Crusaders.
Kenna Larosee had a goal and an assist for the Aggies, and Sierra Vicente, Jolianna Meyers, Deja Erickson and Kelly Larosee all scored.
Krystin Cooper made three saves in 70 minutes for part of the shutout, and Jillian Hudson made one save in the remaining 10 minutes to complete the clean sheet.
Sunrise Mountain 8, Desert Pines 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Alexandra Trinidad scored twice in the Miners’ rout over the Jaguars.
Sunrise Mountain received goals from Brianna Torres-Chavez, Jaylien Sevilla, Yovana Alvidrez, Fatima Carrillo-Cornejo, Kimberly Garcia and Brisa Pena-Martinez.
