Palo Verde named Week 9 Nevada Preps football Team of the Week
Palo Verde may have kept its season alive on Friday.
With the playoffs looming, the Panthers earned a big Northwest League win by upsetting Shadow Ridge 55-22. Chamere Thomas had 148 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries for Palo Verde in the win, which moved the team into a tie for fourth place in the league standings with the Mustangs.
The Panthers now have a chance to earn a playoff berth on Thursday when they play winless Centennial. Palo Verde isn’t automatically in with a win, there’s some potential tiebreaking scenarios that could come into play and keep the team out, but it’s chances look much greater than a week ago.
