Roundup: Ashley Ward, Coronado top Green Valley

Winning pitcher Ashley Ward went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run and three RBIs to lead Coronado’s softball team to a 14-7 home win over Green Valley on Saturday.

Tori Jones went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Haley Crowe was 2-for-2 for the Cougars, who led 10-2 after two innings.

Savannah Fabro went 4-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI, and teammate Olivia mcClain went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs for the Gators.

Palo Verde 15, Arbor View 1 — At Arbor View, Grace Chavez homered, doubled and knocked in two runs to help the Panthers finish off the Aggies in six innings.

Jessica Hopkins pitched a complete game and added a triple for Palo Verde.

Makall Whetten had a double for the Panthers.

Washington Union (Calif.) 8, Rancho 3 — At Fresno, California, the Panthers scored three runs in the bottom of the first to erase a 3-0 deficit and four more in the second on their way to a six-inning win over the Rams in the Washington Union Invitational.

Giselle Ramirez and Kaitlyn Suarez each had two hits for Rancho, and teammate Liliana Gutierrez drove in two runs.

Foothill 10, Eldorado 0 — At Foothill, Leah Becker went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBIs to help the Falcons beat the Sundevils in five innings.

Jocelyn Shupp added a double and two RBIs, and Kylie Becker went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs.

Veronica Velasquez, Heather Holman and Mariana Maldonado each had two hits for Eldorado.

Centennial 18, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Deanna Barerra was 3-for-4 a triple and five RBIs as the Bulldogs shut out the Longhorns.

Seanna Simpson was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Centennial.

Hailey Cisneros and Kayla Smith singled for Legacy.

Las Vegas 16, Valley 3 — At Valley, Skylar Gorrell was 3-for-3 with two homers, four runs and five RBIs as the Wildcats routed the Vikings.

Melina Fabian went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Nicole Forrest was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for Las Vegas.

Valley’s Gabriella Morales went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs.
