ROUNDUP: Blake’s single lifts Wolves past Patriots
Paige Blake’s single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday plated Amanda Green with the go-ahead run to lead Basic’s softball team to a 2-1 home win over Liberty.
Blake finished 3-for-4 and threw out four runners from center field, including back-to-back runners at home plate in the fifth inning.
Kaitlyn Kapral was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Patriots.
Coronado 4, Green Valley 2 — At Coronado, Danielle Amato threw a six-hitter with five strikeouts, and supplied two doubles and three RBIs to lift the Cougars over the Gators.
Alyssa Ayers went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs for Coronado, which got two doubles from Katie Dawson.
Autumn Owens belted an RBI triple, and Megan Barrera had an RBI double to lead Green Valley.
Silverado 12, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Riana Splinter and Jessica Chamberlin each went 2-for-2 with a triple, and the Skyhawks used a 10-run second inning to rout the Dragons in five innings.
Johanna Benton was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, and Kiki Pindel was 2-for-3 with a double for Silverado.
Del Sol’s Rudie Soria-Bailey was 2-for-2.
Eldorado 12, Canyon Springs 2 — At Eldorado, Taylor Schroeder went 2-for-3 as the Sundevils beat the Pioneers in five innings.
The win clinched the Northeast League’s top seed for the Sunrise Region playoffs.
Las Vegas 17, Chaparral 2 — At Las Vegas, Brooke Booth tossed a four-hitter with six strikeouts and belted two home runs, including a grand slam, as the Wildcats cruised past the Cowboys in five innings.
Kristina Nelson went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Las Vegas.
Rancho 21, Sunrise Mountain 4 — At Rancho, Chanel Eliason went 3-for-3 with four runs, and Devine Camberos was 3-for-4 with three runs as the Rams routed the Miners in five innings.
Taryn Sharp was 2-for-3 with a triple and a double, and Natalie Sharp went 2-for-3 with a triple for Sunrise Mountain.
Valley 18, Desert Pines 6 — At Desert Pines, Zoe Galindo went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and six RBIs as the Vikings downed the Jaguars in five innings.
Legacy 15, Moapa Valley 3 — At Legacy, Kiani Elia-Mendiola went 3-for-3 with two triples and seven RBIs to lead the Longhorns past the Pirates in five innings.
Alysia Santos was 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Legacy.
