ROUNDUP: Cheyenne edges Rancho in softball

Rachel Holly scored on a groundout by Lindsay Galindo in the top of the eighth inning Friday to give Cheyenne’s softball team an 8-7 road win over Rancho.
Holly started the eighth with a single, stole second and went to third on a passed ball.
She was 3-for-5 with two runs. Lexi Galindo went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Desert Shields, and teammate Shar Rhodes tripled.
Las Vegas 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Monique Hernandez tossed a one-hitter and struck out 11 to lift the Wildcats over the Wolves.
Hernandez also went 3-for-4 to lead the Las Vegas offense.
Durango 11, Palo Verde 0 — At Durango, Ashley Hall had two solo home runs to help the Trailblazers cruise past the Panthers in five innings.
Samantha Juarez went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Durango, and teammate Jaexie Balilea went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
Taylor Short pitched a two-hitter with three strikeouts for the Trailblazers.
Silverado 9, Centennial 8 — At Centennial, the Skyhawks scored four runs in the fourth inning and four in the sixth and held on to edge the Bulldogs.
Taylor Vega went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run for Silverado, and teammate Mikayla Thielges went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run.
Johnna Brown went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Centennial.
Shadow Ridge 5, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Mandy Harmon pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead the Mustangs over the Patriots.
Mary Jordan went 2-for-3 with a double and a run for Shadow Ridge, and teammates Courtney Winnett and Ashley Eldridge each finished 2-for-4.
Foothill 6, Coconino (Ariz.) 3 — At Kingman, Ariz., Shelbie Medrano went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Falcons to a five-inning victory in the Arizona Pepsi Classic.
Medrano also came on in relief to pick up the win, and teammate Kylie Ishikawa went 2-for-3 with a double.
Foothill 12, Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 0 — At Kingman, Ariz., the Falcons scored 10 runs in the third innings to cruise past Lake Havasu in four innings.
Myranda Mortel went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs to lead Foothill. Medrano went 3-for-3 and tossed a one-hitter to earn the victory.
Calvary Chapel 11-9, West Wendover 5-6 — At West Wendover, Kaitlyn Ulrich got the win in both ends of the doubleheader as the Lions swept the Wolverines.
Ulrich doubled and drove in a run in the opener and tripled and had two RBIs in the nightcap.
Calvary Chapel’s Anna Duerden had a double, two singles and two RBIs in the first game and added two singles and an RBI in the second game.
Pahranagat Valley 15-15, Round Mountain 0-0 — At Round Mountain, Addie Canning pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the first game and a five-inning one-hitter in the second to lead the Panthers in a sweep over the Knights.
Canning finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs, and sister Chanae Canning finished 3-for-6 with four RBIs and four runs over the two games.
