Roundup: Clara Heislen leads Faith Lutheran over Cimarron
Clara Heislen went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs on Saturday to help Faith Lutheran’s softball team to a 13-7 road win over Cimarron-Memorial.
Ellie Fried was 4-for-5 with four runs and two RBIs, and Natalie Behmer went 3-for-5 with two runs for Faith Lutheran.
Maggie Whipple, Sophie Foster, Grace Hornsby, Audrey Kirsch and Haley Hines each added two hits for the Crusaders.
Mya’Liah Bethea went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead Cimarron. Kyle Sharapan was 2-for-4 with a solo homer for the Spartans.
Desert Oasis 17, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jada Moreno was 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs as the Diamondbacks routed the Chargers in three innings.
Alexus Marquez threw a one-hitter with seven strikeouts to get the win.
Desert Oasis had just six hits, but drew 14 walks.
Rancho 16, Valley 0 — At Valley, Lorena De La Torre threw a three-inning no-hitter as the Rams blanked the Vikings.
Liliana Gutierrez was 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs, and Ayanna Potter went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Rancho.
National Tournament
Rio Mesa (Calif.) 2, Centennial 0 — At Torrance, California, Janessa Pena threw a one-hitter as the Spartans shut out the Bulldogs in six innings.
Deanna Barrera threw a three-hitter and struck out seven for Centennial.
West Torrance (Calif.) 4, Centennial 3 — At Torrance, California, the Warriors scored the winning run on a bunt single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Barrera wass 2-for-3 with a run, and Jacqueline Perez-Mena had a double and an RBI for Centennial.
San Pedro (Calif.) 4, Coronado 3 — At Torrance, California, the Pirates scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to edge the Cougars.
Tatum Spangler went 2-for-2 and also went the distance in the circle for Coronado. She didn’t allow an earned run in 5⅓ innings and struck out 11.
Madison Stephens went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Cougars.
Frontier (Calif.) 7, Coronado 2 — At Torrance, California, Jordan Head slammed two homers to lead the Titans past the Cougars.
Kellcie Adams added a home run for Frontier, which took control with a four-run first inning.
Stephens went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Leona Joshua was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Coronado.
Redondo Union (Calif.) 2, Basic 1 — At Torrance, California, K.P. Fraser and Jesse Rodarte each had a solo homer to lead the Sea Hawks over the Wolves.
Sanoe Helenihi went 1-for-2 and scored in the bottom of the first inning for Basic.
Rio Mesa (Calif.) 3, Palo Verde 0 — At Torrance, California, Alicia Estrada threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Spartans over the Panthers in four innings.
West Torrance (Calif.) 3, Palo Verde 0 — At Torrance, California, Samantha Pech went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs as the Warriors beat the Panthers in six innings.
Palo Verde pitcher Taylor Askland went the distance, allowing two earned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts.

Foothill 16, Mar Vista (Calif.) 9 — At Bishop Gorman, Kylie Becker was 4-for-4 with a double, four runs and an RBI, and Leah Becker went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Falcons over the Mariners.
Jocelyn Shupp went 2-for-5 with a triple, a homer, two RBIs and three runs, and Rhian Allen, Skyler Glaude and Ali Fox each added two hits for Foothill.
Bishop Gorman 5, Farmington (N.M.) 4 — At Bishop Gorman, Hayley Coreas drove in Monique Passalacqua in the top of the fourth to give the Gaels a four-inning win over the Scorpions.
Coreas went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Passalacqua was 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Marist Catholic (Ore.) 17, Bishop Gorman 2 — At Bishop Gorman, Abby Doerr was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to lead the Spartans over the Gaels in three innings.
Ariel Carlson added a home run for Marist.
Passalacqua hit a two-run homer for Gorman.
West (Utah) 6, Arbor View 4 — At Bishop Gorman, the Panthers scored three runs in the first and never trailed in earning the five-inning win.
Cierra Mikaelsen and Irelyn Richards each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Arbor View.
March Warm-Up Tournament
Uintah (Utah) 21, Boulder City 9 — At St. George, Utah, Quailee Smuin had two homers and five RBIs as the Utes rallied to down the Eagles in the March Warm-Up Tournament.
Boulder City led 9-2 going to the bottom of the fifth, but Uintah scored nine runs to take the lead, and added 10 runs in the fifth to pull away.
Abby Giunta was 2-for-3 with a run and four RBIs to lead Boulder City. Marleena Mills went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Eagles.
Juab (Utah) 13, Boulder City 9 — At St. George, Utah, Reggie Myers and Kloe Park each had two hits and three RBIs as the Wasps rallied to defeat the Eagles.
Boulder City led 9-4 after five innings, but Juab rallied for six runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to take the lead.
Ryann Reese went 4-for-5 with two RBIs for the Eagles. Marleena Mills was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs, and Jordan Moorhead was 2-for-4 with three runs for Boulder City.
Lily Osman added a homer and three RBIs for the Eagles, and teammate Ellie Ramsey had two hits.
Bonneville (Idaho) 9, Eldorado 8 — At St. George, Utah, the Bees scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to top the Sundevils.
Roshanda Stevens went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run to lead Eldorado. Mariana Maldonado was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Heather Holmean and Adriana Romero each added two hits for the Sundevils.
Emery (Utah) 19, Eldorado 2 — At St. George, Utah, Addy Healy was 5-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs to help the Spartans to the five-inning win over the Sundevils.
Romero was 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Eldorado.
North Summit (Utah) 26, The Meadows 7 — At St. George, Utah, Lacie Perry was 4-for-5 with a double, six RBIs and four runs to help the Braves to the five-inning win.
Korinne Oder went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs, and Hallie Monkrash was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs for The Meadows.
Sheen Kim added two hits for the Mustangs.
Spring Slam
Lake Mead 13, Mountain View 3 — At Mountain View, Josey White went 3-for-3 with a double, two triples and five RBIs to power the Eagles to the four-inning win.
Freund went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI for Lake Mead.
Freund also allowed an unearned run on one hit in 3⅔ innings to get the win. She struck out nine with one walk.
Julia Sevilla doubled for Mountain View’s lone hit.
Arizona Lutheran (Ariz.) 14, Lake Mead 5 — At Mountain View, Katie Turner went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and struck out 12 in four innings to lead the Coyotes over the Eagles.
Freund went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs for Lake Mead.
Bishop’s School 22, Mountain View 0 — At Mountain View, Jaya Travis went 4-for-4 with two doubles, six RBIs and four runs as the Knights routed the Saints in three innings.
Sevilla was 1-for-1 with a double for Mountain View, which managed two hits.
