ROUNDUP: Cole carries Cheyenne in win over Crusaders

Taylor Cole went 3-for-4 with a triple and a double and had a hand in all of her team’s runs Monday as host Cheyenne defeated Faith Lutheran’s softball team, 8-2.

Cole scored one run and drove in the other seven for the Desert Shields. Brittany Leeds was 2-for-4 and scored twice for Cheyenne.

Vanessa Valdez was 3-for-3 for the Crusaders.

Green Valley 16, Canyon Springs 0 — At Green Valley, Samantha Loving tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out eight and allowing only a fifth-inning walk, as the Gators routed the Pioneers.

Tara Hilton was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Green Valley, which took advantage of 15 walks.

Silverado 18, Valley 1 — At Valley, Riana Splinter belted two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished 3-for-4 with a double and six RBIs as the Skyhawks blitzed the Vikings in five innings.

Ashlee Phillips was 2-for-3 with a run and five RBIs, and Brandi Splinter was 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI for Silverado.

Gabby Santiago tossed a two-hitter for Silverado.

Rancho 10, Las Vegas 0 — At Rancho, Brandy Marlett tossed a five-inning one-hitter and struck out eight to lead the Rams by the Wildcats.

Marlett went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and McKinzi Vega went 2-for-3 with a double for the Rams.

Arbor View 9, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Shadow Ridge, winning pitcher Letty Valenzuela went 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Aggies topped the Mustangs.

Ashlyn Ames and Kellie Anderson both went 2-for-4 with a double for Arbor View.

Jojo Brewer went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Sarah Pinkston had a solo home run for Shadow Ridge. Justin Garganese was 2-for-3 for the Mustangs.

Pahrump Valley 20, Western 2 — At Western, Bryanna Soliwoda had a double, triple and home run, and the Trojans routed the Warriors in five innings.

Winning pitcher Whitney Roderick also homered for Pahrump.

Amber Cosgove had a double for Western.

Spring Valley 15, Sierra Vista 1 — At Spring Valley, Michaela Hood tossed a five-inning five-hitter with six strikeouts and hit a double to lead the Grizzlies over the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Martinece Robertson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Grizzlies.

Mojave 13, Clark 3 — At Clark, Danette Daguiar went 2-for-3 with a triple and a double to help the Rattlers top the Chargers in five innings.

Ashley Persico was 2-for-2 for Mojave.

Durango at Palo Verde postponed
The Durango at Palo Verde game was postponed due to rain and was rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
