ROUNDUP: Foti’s five-hitter helps Patriots top Cougars

Francesca Foti spun a five-hitter and struck out five Tuesday as Liberty’s softball team topped visiting Coronado, 3-1.

Foti also went 2-for-3 with a two-run triple in the third inning, and Megan Patras was 2-for-2 with a double for the Patriots.

Nicole Hardy had two hits for Coronado.

Green Valley 7, Foothill 3 — At Green Valley, Tara Webster tossed a five-hitter with nine strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Gators past the Falcons.

Megan Barrera was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Cori Sutton went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Green Valley.

Gabby Canibeyaz went 2-for-4 for Foothill.

Silverado 8, Basic 4 — At Silverado, Taylee Heckman was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, and the Skyhawks used a five-run fifth inning to take control.

Kaitlyn Amaral added two hits and two RBIs for Silverado.

Tech 16, Del Sol 2 — At Tech, Kimmie Rodriguez keyed a 10-run third inning with a grand slam, and the Roadrunners rolled the Dragons in five innings.

Ashley Ramsey went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and three runs for Tech.

Jordyn Roark tossed a four-hitter and struck out eight for the Roadrunners.

Both Del Sol runs were unearned.

Rancho 14, Valley 3 — At Valley, Amber Marlett went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs, and threw a complete game with seven strikeouts as the Rams cruised past the Vikings.

Aly Lamboo was 3-for-4 with a double, four runs and three RBIs, Ashtan Orlan went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, and Tiffany Smith supplied a double, two singles and four runs for Rancho.

Zoe Galindo was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, and Jasmine Villamar added two hits for Valley.

Las Vegas 7, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Brooke Booth spun a four-hit shutout to lead the Wildcats past the Sundevils.

Ashly Westgarth had a triple and an RBI for Las Vegas.

Canyon Springs 19, Desert Pines 5 — At Canyon Springs, Ally Gibbons went 4-for-4 with three RBIs as the Pioneers cruised to the easy victory over Desert Pines.

Cierra Berkemeyer was 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Canyon Springs.

Indian Springs 12, Lake Mead 2 — At Indian Springs, Brandi Bryl threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Thunderbirds to a six-inning win over the Eagles.

Baylee McCormick was 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and three RBIs, and teammate Heather Thormahlen went 2-for-3 with a home run for Indian Springs.

Pahranagat Valley 11-8, Mountain View 2-7 — At Alamo, Kyla Mortensen went 5-7 in the doubleheader and homered in each game as the Panthers swept the Saints.

Mortensen tossed a four-hitter and struck out seven in the opener.

In the nightcap, the Panthers scored four runs in the third and three in the fourth and held on as the game was called after five innings.

Jamey Brede was 4-for-4 in the doubleheader for Pahranagat Valley.

Mountain View’s Malori Mauck homered in the nightcap.
