ROUNDUP: Fukuda’s sprint gives Clark egde over Desert Oasis

Jasmine Fukuda raced home from second base on Anna Jaehn’s grounder to the circle with two outs in the top of the eighth inning to provide the winning run as Clark’s softball team rallied from a 6-2 deficit to top host Desert Oasis, 8-7.

Fukuda singled and advanced to second on an error before coming home on Jaehn’s grounder off Desert Oasis pitcher Lenzi Cram. Jaehn beat the throw to first as Fukuda raced home.

Down to their final out in the seventh inning, the Chargers rallied for five runs on one hit, four walks, a hit by pitch, and an error to take a 7-6 lead before Desert Oasis scored in the bottom of the seventh to force an extra inning.

Fukuda was 3-for-5, and Jaehn went 2-for-5 with two RBis for Clark.

Emily Heinz was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for the Diamondbacks. Cram, Morgan Hughes, Briona Santovito and Holly O’Hara each added two hits for Desert Oasis. Hughes also drove in two runs.

Durango 16, Spring Valley 6 — At Spring Valley, Katie Moore was 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs and one RBi to lead the Trailblazers past the Grizzlies in five innings.

Bridget Serl was 2-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs scored for Durango.

Jessica Reed went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and one run scored for Spring Valley.

Bishop Gorman 13, Western 1 — At Gorman, Machenzie Tucky went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored as the Gaels plated 11 in the first inning and cruised past the Warriors in five innings.

Alexandria Gordon was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs for the Gaels.

Gorman pitcher Alexis Aguirre tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Pahrump Valley 13, Sierra Vista 3 — At Pahrump, winning pitcher Tranyce Rankin went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs as the Trojans defeated the Mountain Lions in six innings.

Taylor Ball, Rachel Hartwick and Nikki Zinnecker each added two hits for the Trojans.

Kalene Sales-Watkins was 2-for-3 for Sierra Vista.

Arbor View 11, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Amanda Jones tossed a one-hitter, striking out seven and walking two, as the Aggies blanked the Desert Shields in five innings.

Nichole Diaz was 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Arbor View. Savannah Webster and Marlene Panduro each went 3-for-4, and Webster drove in two runs for the Aggies.

Karli Lehr and Kristina Billante each added two hits and two RBIs, and Ashley Dawkins had two hits and an RBI for Arbor View.

Tiffany Smitley’s one-out single in the fifth inning broke up Jones’ no-hit bid.

Palo Verde 5, Shadow Ridge 3 — At Shadow Ridge, Lauryn Stover went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs as the Panthers held off the Mustangs.

Palo Verde pitcher Melissa McCormick struck out 15, and teammate Angel Council went 2-for-4.

Krislyn Campos was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and an RBI to lead Shadow Ridge. Casey Velarde went 3-for-3, and Sabriya Brooks and Mary Jordan each hit 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Mustangs.

Cimarron-Memorial 6, Centennial 0 — At Cimarron, Carrie Sheehan tossed an eight-hitter with eight strikeouts to help the Spartans shutout the Bulldogs.

Andrea Bishop went 3-for-3, and Hannah Williams was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Spartans. Sheehan added a double and two RBIs.

Taylor Huntly went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Bulldogs.

Faith Lutheran 29, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, winning pitcher Kailey McEvilly went 4-for-4 and tossed a five-hitter as the Crusaders routed the Rattlers in five innings.

Hayley Thomas and Maya Barnes each hit a triple for Faith Lutheran, which pounded out 20 hits.

Green Valley 7, Tech 2 — At Green Valley, Desiree Laswell tossed a three-hitter and struck out eight as the Gators built a 7-0 lead after four innings and cruised past the Roadrunners.

Alicia Firelein was 3-for-4 with a double for Green Valley.

Las Vegas 14, Chaparral 0 — At Las Vegas, the Wildcats exploded for 13 runs in the first inning and cruised to victory over the Cowboys in five innings.

Chelsea Lewis went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for the Wildcats. Valerie Talamantez was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Kristina Nelson hit 3-for-4 with two runs for Las Vegas.
