ROUNDUP: Ross’ solo shot lifts Wolves past Patriots

Marissa Ross belted a solo home run to left-center field with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday to lift Basic’s softball team to a 4-3 win over visiting Liberty.

Lacey Romo hit a three-run double in the third for Basic.

Liberty’s Francesca Foti pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts, and went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Megan Patras was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Patriots.

Coronado 5, Green Valley 0 — At Coronado, Lee Harrison tossed a two-hit shutout as the Cougars blanked the Gators.

Morgan Yuhas went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer for Coronado.

Silverado 15, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Riana Splinter tripled and doubled, and the Skyhawks used a 10-run fifth inning to down the Dragons in five innings.

Desiree Orozco was 2-for-2 for Del Sol.

Las Vegas 10, Chaparral 1 — At Las Vegas, Brooke Booth threw a one-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Wildcats built a 10-0 lead after three innings and routed the Cowboys.

Ashly Westgarth went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Las Vegas, which got two hits apiece from Justine Rosales and Jamye Cooley.

Valley 13, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Mickayla Romero threw a five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Vikings routed the Jaguars.

Jasmine Villamar went 4-for-4 with a double for Valley.

Rancho 11, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Rancho, Aly Lamboo tossed a five-inning one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead the Rams past the Miners.

Lamboo also went 1-for-3 with a two-run double for Rancho.

Amber Marlett went 2-for-4 with five RBIs for Rancho.

Eldorado 11, Canyon Springs 9 — At Eldorado, Erika Estrada went 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Sundevils overcame a 9-0 first inning deficit to defeat the Pioneers.

Eldorado gave up eight walks in the first, helping Canyon Springs score nine runs on just one hit.

Boulder City 20, Western 2 — At Boulder City, Taylor McKeever doubled twice and notched four RBIs, and the Eagles used an 11-run first inning to cruise past the Warriors.

Ali Rants supplied three hits and four RBIs, and Ariel O’Neill added two hits and three RBIs for Boulder City.

Lincoln County 25-17, Lake Mead 3-2 — At Panaca, Elle Scott tossed a no-hitter in the nightcap as the Lynx swept a pair of five-inning games against the Eagles.

Jessica Shoup homered for Lincoln County in the opener.
