ROUNDUP: Schindler’s quick feet allow Eldorado to hand Rancho first league loss

Cheyanne Schindler scored from second base on a fielding error in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday as Eldorado’s softball team handed visiting Rancho its first Northeast League loss in a 3-2 decision.

Theresa Cianflocco went 2-for-3 with a double to help Eldorado, and Ashley Jarzombek struck out seven while tossing a five-hitter.

Amber Marlett had a two-run single in the third inning for Rancho, which failed to capitalize on a bases-loaded opportunity in the top of the seventh.

Basic 6, Green Valley 4 — At Green Valley, Marissa Ross singled home Adrian Brown with the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning as the Wolves outlasted the Gators.

Brown, who was 2-for-5 with two runs, led off the 10th with a triple. Ross and Leah Causey both singled and scored in the 10th.

Ross and Tiana Tapuala each went 2-for-5, with Tapuala scoring twice for Basic.

Chelsea Anderson was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Shelby Vickers went 2-for-4 with a run for Green Valley.

Silverado 5, Tech 2 — At Silverado, Taylee Heckman belted a two-run home run during a four-run third inning to help the Skyhawks pull away from the Roadrunners.

Ashlee Phillips went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Gabby Petronzi was 2-for-3 for Silverado.

Aly Kosinski went 2-for-4 with a double, and a run and tossed a four-hitter for the Skyhawks.

Coronado 10, Foothill 0 — At Coronado, Danielle Amato went 3-for-3 and pitched a three-hitter with three strikeouts as the Cougars shut out the Falcons in six innings.

Lee Harrison was 3-for-4 with two triples and two RBIs for Coronado, and Alyssa Ayers went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kim Dawson added two hits, including a triple, for the Cougars.

Liberty 12, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Rhiannon Beck, Francesca Foti and Megan Patras each went 3-for-4 as the Patriots topped the Dragons in five innings.

Kennedy Courtney was 2-for-3, and Amber Ruccia finished 2-for-4 for Liberty.

Del Sol’s Desiree Orozco was 2-for-3 with a home run.

Las Vegas 11, Valley 1 — At Las Vegas High, Ashly Westgarth went 4-for-5 with two runs and five RBIs to help the Wildcats rout the Vikings in six innings.

Jasmina Salas was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two stolen bases for Las Vegas. Krizzel Galvez went 3-for-4, and Jamye Cooley was 2-for-3 with three runs for the Wildcats.

Sophia Navarro went 2-for-2 for Valley.

Sunrise Mountain 11, Canyon Springs 10 — At Sunrise Mountain, Dara Slivka went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs as the Miners outlasted the Pioneers.

Imani Kroon was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Sunrise Mountain.

Dari Carter went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Canyon Springs, which had two runners on with two outs in the seventh but couldn’t bring the tying run home.

Chaparral 22, Desert Pines 5 — At Desert Pines, Keila Lizares hit two triples, and JeNiece Morgan added two doubles as the Cowboys routed the Jaguars in five innings.

Chaparral scored 13 runs in the first inning to pull away.

Monica Estella and Janet Rios each had two hits for Desert Pines.

Durango 5, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Mindy Larson scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning, and the Tralblazers tacked on three runs in the seventh to down the Diamonbacks.

Dallas Boyce tossed a four-hitter for Durango, which got a two-run double in the seventh from Katie Moore.

Lenzi Cram went 2-for-4 for Desert Oasis.

Clark 15, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Sydney Staresinich went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and the Chargers scored 13 runs in the first two innings on their way to a five-inning rout of the Bengals.

Taylor Barylsky homered for Bonanza.

Spring Valley 12, Sierra Vista 5 — At Spring Valley, Michelle Schneider went 4-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs as the Grizzlies downed the Mountain Lions.

Sindy Cummings tripled and doubled en route to scoring twice, and Brittany Craig was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Kalene Sales-Watkins was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three runs to lead Sierra Vista, which got two hits from Michelle Estelle.

Bishop Gorman 13, Pahrump Valley 11 — At Gorman, Miranda Robles scored on a fielder’s choice, and Gracie Martinez came home on a passed ball in the top of the 13th inning to lift the Gaels past the Trojans in the completion of a game that was suspended on April 1 for darkness.

The regularly-scheduled game between the Gaels and Trojans was suspended after six innings Friday for darkness. Pahrump leads 10-9, and a completion date has yet to be determined.

Virgin Valley 14, Western 1 — At Mesquite, Gabby Paongo was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI as the Bulldogs blitzed the Warriors in five innings.

Madison Barnard had three RBIs for Virgin Valley, which got two RBIs apiece from Alora Bonner and Cassidy Crandall.

Halle Wakefield tossed a one-hitter for the Bulldogs.

Boulder City 21-19, Moapa Valley 0-0 — At Boulder City, the Eagles routed the Pirates in a pair of five-inning shutouts.

Karlee Koopman tossed a two-hitter in the early game for Boulder City, and teammate Alex Frye did the same in the nightcap.

Janet McQuillan went 4-for-6 with a home run, a triple and two doubles on the day for the Eagles.

Teammate Taylor McKeever went a combined 7-for-8 with a double and a triple.

Needles 5-2, Lincoln County 4-4 — At Needles, Calif., Megan Mann’s one-out single plated Dakota Lillard with the winning run in the eighth inning of the opening game as the Mustangs and Lynx handed each other their first league loss of the season.

Needles carried a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning of the opener before the Lynx scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to force an extra inning.

The Mustangs drew a pair of walks ahead of Lillard’s decisive hit in the eighth.

Abby Chandler went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs, and Holly Laswell was 3-for-4 with a triple for Needles.

Lincoln County’s Chanel Adamson and Melanie Florence each went 2-for-4.

In the nightcap, Michelle Wheatley doubled home Kourtney Gloeckner with the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh, and Florence added an RBI single later in the inning to allow the Lynx to earn the split.

Adamson was 2-for-4 for Lincoln County.

Mann was 3-for-3 with a home run and a double for the Mustangs.

Mountain View 6-8, Lake Mead 4-13 — At Mountain View, Taylor Badua-Kono and Rene Baker both went 4-for-5 in the second game to help the Eagles salvage a split with the Saints.

Mountain View’s Lexi Alley struck out 11 and drove in four runs in the first game, finishing 7-for-8 with a home run and five RBIs on the day.

Taylor Nelson also went a combined 7-for-8 in the two games for Mountain View.

Laughlin 19-17, The Meadows 12-7 — At Laughlin, Cassie Beggs went a combined 8-for-11 with two home runs and five RBIs to lead the Cougars to a sweep of the Mustangs.

Beggs hit for the cycle in the first game.

Michelle Pineda hit three home runs on the day for Laughlin, and Katelyn Skillingstad homered for the Cougars in the second game, which ended after six innings on the run rule.

Victoria Onufrieff homered in the first game for The Meadows.

Indian Springs 5-3, Calvary Chapel 4-6 — At Calvary Chapel, the Thunderbirds and the Lions split a doubleheader.

Indian Springs won the first game with two unearned runs in the eighth inning, and Calvary collected 13 hits to take the nightcap.

Heather Thormahlen went 5-for-8 with a double on the day for the Thunderbirds.

Phallen Nelson went a combined 7-for-9 with a double to lead the Lions, and teammate Jamie Schmidt was 5-for-8 with a double.

Pahranagat Valley 17-14, Sandy Valley 2-0 — At Alamo, Kennedy Huntsman tossed a perfect game in the nightcap and went 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the first game as the Panthers swept a pair of five-inning games from the Sidewinders.

Kyla Mortensen tossed a two-hitter with eight strikeouts in the first game and finished a combined 4-for-8 with four runs for Pahranagat Valley.

Stevie Horrocks homered for the Panthers in the nightcap.
