ROUNDUP: Sheehan homers, doubles, lifts Cimarron past Aggies
Carrie Sheehan’s double in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday plated Starlyn Thomas with the winning run as Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team nipped visiting Arbor View, 2-1.
Sheehan, who also blasted a game-tying home run in the fourth inning, tossed a three-hitter and struck out seven.
Chelsa Baca singled twice, and pitcher Amanda Jones had 12 strikeouts for Arbor View.
Shadow Ridge 9, Cheyenne 4 — At Shadow Ridge, Karla Serrano went 4-for-4 with a run and three RBIs as the Mustangs pounded out 17 hits and defeated the Desert Shields.
Krislyn Campos and Danielle Buecker each went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Mustangs, and Buecker also hit two doubles. Mary Jordan was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.
Rachel Holly went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run, and Melanie Manley was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Cheyenne.
Legacy 15, Mojave 0 — At Legacy, Alexis Fuller went 4-for-4 with a double, and Darcey Cochran belted a grand slam in a 3-for-4, five-RBI effort as the Longhorns routed Mojave in five innings.
Jessie Wilhelm was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs for Legacy.
Centennial 15, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Centennial, Kylie Bartlett went 3-for-3 with a double, a grand slam and six RBIs to lead the Bulldogs in a five-inning rout of the Crusaders.
Mikayla Djordjevic, Shannon Brown and Mia Acuna each had two hits for Centennial.
Maya Barnes singled twice for Faith Lutheran.
Bonanza 12, Spring Valley 1 — At Bonanza, Courtney Spencer tossed a five-inning two-hitter and went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Bengals past Spring Valley.
Spencer struck out five and allowed only one walk.
Cheyenne Wells was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Nicolette Lind hit 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Bonanza.
Clark 14, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Pahrump, winning pitcher Julia Hagen went 4-for-4 with a double, and Shannon Chapman was 2-for-4 with a double to help the Chargers beat the Trojans in six innings.
Kaitlyn Szeles supplied two hits for Clark.
Taylor Raymer and Rebecca Gamble each hit a double for Pahrump.
Durango 16, Bishop Gorman 4 — At Durango, Jaexie Balilea went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs as the Trailblazers blitzed Gorman in five innings.
Katie Moore was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Cristina Rohner was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs for Durango.
Alexandria Gordon was 2-for-3 with a double for the Gaels.
Lincoln County 22-7, The Meadows 0-3 — At Panaca, the Lynx swept a doubleheader from the Mustangs.
K.C. Jensen fired a five-inning one-hitter and smacked a triple, and Nicole Florence belted a three-run homer in the first game.
Tara Tibbitts doubled and drove in two runs for the Lynx in the second game. Michelle Wheatley had a triple in the first game and a double in the second game for Lincoln County.
