SOFTBALL: Angel Jones, Del Sol earn road win over Sunrise Mountain
Angel Jones went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs as Del Sol’s softball team held on for a 16-12 road win over Sunrise Mountain on Monday.
Noa Bowie added a two-run triple for the Dragons, who led 12-11 after four innings but scored two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away.
Kayla Bryant doubled to lead Sunrise Mountain.
Moapa Valley 11, Western 8 — At Western, Kaitlyn Anderson hit an inside-the-park home run to lead the Pirates past the Warriors.
Lainey Cornwall and Kessa Evans each doubled, and Emilie Barraza struck out nine to earn the win for Moapa Valley, which scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 10-3 lead.
Ellyson Reynada went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for Western, which got homers from Makalita Moeaki and Ashley Rodriguez.
Desert Oasis 9, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Faith Lutheran, Elsy Guzman tossed a six-hitter with four strikeouts and went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs to lead the Diamondbacks past the Crusaders.
Meagan Anders went 2-for-4, and Makayla Rickard had three RBIs for Desert Oasis, which led 6-1 after three innings.
Sophie Foster was 2-for-3 with a double for Faith Lutheran.
Pahrump Valley 8, Chaparral 3 — At Pahrump, Jessica Pearson was 3-for-3 as the Trojans topped the Cowboys.
Sklyer Lauver added a double for Pahrump, which scored four runs in the bottom of the second.
Taylor Egan pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn a save.
Fiona Togagae doubled for Chaparral.
Coronado 12, Silverado 2 — At Coronado, Ashley Ward tossed a five-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead the Cougars past the Skyhawks in five innings.
Sophia McCann went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Taylor Okamura was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Marissa Kopp was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Coronado, which scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to enact the run rule.
Jaime Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Silverado.
Tech 14, Cheyenne 3 — At Cheyenne, Ashlee Carratelli went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and the Roadrunners benefited from nine Cheyenne errors to win in six innings.
Avery Rayos and Katy Orellana each went 2-for-5, and Gizele Cascos struck out five to earn the win for Tech, which led 8-0 after two innings.
Madelynn Kennedy doubled, and Victoria Rosales finished 3-for-3 for Cheyenne.
Virgin Valley 22, Desert Pines 8 — At Desert Pines, Rylea Smothers finished with three hits and four RBIs, and the Bulldogs finished with 19 hits to earn a five-inning win over the Jaguars.
Taylor Ostrowski and Abbie Boss each added three hits, and Ashlee Faught and Taylor Barnum had two walks and three RBIs apiece for Virgin Valley, which led 13-3 after two innings.
Calee Clem drew three walks, and Taylor Barnum struck out five to earn the win.
Shadow Ridge 16, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Caitlyn Covington was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and five RBIs to help the Mustangs to the three-inning win over the Spartans.
Samantha Milanovich was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs, and Shea Clements hit a solo home run for Shadow Ridge.
Alyssa Stanley allowed an unearned run on two hits to get the win.
Boulder City 14, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Bailey Bennett-Jordan pitched a five-hitter and went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Eagles over the Sundevils.
Bennett-Jordan struck out 11 with no walks.
Ryan Reese was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs, and Ashley Wishard was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Boulder City.
Marleena Mills had a homer and three RBIs for the Eagles.
Centennial 20, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Makenzie Ball finished with three hits and four RBIs, and Kiana Tate added three hits and two RBIs as the Bulldogs topped the Longhorns in three innings.
Briana Benoit had three RBIs, and Jaden Tate had two hits for Centennial, which scored 15 runs in the second inning.
Haylee Lupinetti tossed a one-hitter with four strikeouts for the Bulldogs.
Needles 11, Mohave Accelerated (Ariz.) 1 — At Needles, California, Kourtney Fletcher pitched a complete game and hit a two-run home run to lead the Mustangs to the victory.
Fletcher allowed three hits and struck out six. Jaycee Fragoso was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Nicole Hooper hit a solo home run for Needles.
