SOFTBALL: Bulldogs hold off visiting Diamondbacks

Ashley Ross was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs Thursday to help Centennial’s softball team hold off visiting Desert Oasis, 11-9.

Jaden Tate had two doubles, two runs and two RBIs, and Savannah Horvath had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for the Bulldogs, who led 11-3 in the fourth inning.

Shonda Badayos was 4-for-4 with a double, two homers and six RBIs, and teammate Gemma Perez was 2-for-3 with a solo homer for the Diamondbacks, who got three hits from May Dacquel, and two hits and two runs from Erin McInerney.

Spring Valley 5, Green Valley 3 — At Green Valley, Ellie Endsley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to help the Grizzlies nip the Gators.

Mariah Ward was 2-for-4 with two runs for Spring Valley, which led 5-2 entering the bottom of the seventh.

Green Valley scored once in the bottom of the seventh, but stranded the potential tying runs in scoring position.

Samantha Loving had a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Gators.

Mojave 12, Western 3 — At Western, Danette Daguiar went 3-for-4 with two doubles to help the Rattlers top the Warriors.

Ashley Persico and Itzel Loera each went 3-for-5 with a double for Mojave.

Faith Lutheran 10, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Pahrump, Lauryn Lipe went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs to help the Crusaders beat the Trojans.

Bri Yee and Alex Wright each drove in two runs for Faith Lutheran, which was helped by nine Pahrump errors.

Mosie Foley went the distance, allowing one earned run on eight hits with six strikeouts, to get the win.

Pahrump’s Bryanna Soliwada hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning. Whitney Roderick went the distance for the Trojans, striking out 10 and allowing no earned runs.

Coronado 12, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Jillian James tossed a six-inning four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking one, as the Cougars routed the Sundevils.

Jaiden Johnson blasted a two-run homer in the second inning, and Danielle Amato added a two-run shot in the fourth inning for Coronado, which got two hits apiece from James and Basia Query. Amato was 2-for-3.

Kerrigan Holman supplied a two-run single for Eldorado.

Foothill 18, Basic 5 — At Foothill, Jordan Corn went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, three runs and four RBIs to lead the Falcons by the Wolves in five innings.

Sarah Maddox was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs for Foothill.

Ashley Lampkey had two hits, a run and an RBI for Basic.

Legacy 15, Bonanza 2 — At Legacy, Kellie Nelson tossed a five-inning three-hitter to guide the Longhorns past the Bengals.

Gabby Rinker had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs, and Lindsey Fishman added two hits for Legacy, which got three RBIs from Anastasia Fuller.

Cheyenne 18, Clark 4 — At Clark, Italy Mora went 3-for-4 with two doubles and seven RBIs, as the Desert Shields routed the Chargers in five innings.

Brittany Leeds was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Sabrina Stafford went 2-for-2 with four runs scored for Cheyenne.

Sara King went 2-for-3 for Clark.

Liberty 19, Del Sol 0 — At Liberty, Breanna Alvarez pitched a five-inning one-hitter as the Patriots routed the Dragons.

Marisa Olmos had a triple and a double, and McKenna Hefley went 3-for-3 with a double for Liberty, which scored seven runs in the first inning and nine more in the third.

Needles 20-17, Lake Mead 0-3 — At Lake Mead, Demi Limon tossed a one-hitter and struck out five in the opener and had a solo homer in the nightcap as the Mustangs swept the Eagles.

Melanie Leslie-Merchain hit a three-run homer in the four-inning opener, and Brenna Chavez added a double for Needles, which got a double from Shayna Edenfield in the late game.

Jade Odynski had Lake Mead’s only hit in the opener, and teammate Taylor Webb had a double in the nightcap.
