SOFTBALL: Creswell’s walk-off homer sends Spartans past Longhorns
Sarina Creswell belted a game-ending three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday to give Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team a 10-7 win over visiting Legacy.
Creswell went 3-for-5 with three runs and four RBIs.
Alyssa Sotelo went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBIs, and Alysia Santos homered for Legacy.
Liberty 5, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Hannah Freer tossed an eight-hitter to lead the Patriots by the Sundevils.
Jenn Story had an RBI single for Liberty, which took advantage of six errors.
Deja Wargo and Sara Millett each provided a single and a double to lead Eldorado, which got two hits from Daylon Brooks.
Coronado 9, Basic 4 — At Coronado, Haley Harrison went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and the Cougars used a four-run fifth inning to pull away from the Wolves.
Nicole Hardy was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs for Coronado, which got two hits and an RBI from Alex Battest.
Rachel Snyder doubled, tripled, and drove in a run, and Jessica Clifford had two hits to lead Basic.
Centennial 13, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Savannah Horvath was 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs to help the Bulldogs top the Bengals in five innings.
Heather Bowen went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and winning pitcher Taylor Huntly was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Centennial. Mia Acuna went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for the Bulldogs.
Megan Rabe was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Bonanza.
Foothill 13, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Daryan Meade went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to help the Falcons to the five-inning win.
Palmer Bosanko was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and McKenna King went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Foothill, which scored eight runs in the top of the third.
Vanessa Parrales threw a two-hitter to get the win.
Bishop Gorman 14, Desert Oasis 1 — At Gorman, Shelby Estocado belted two homers and had five RBIs as the Gaels routed the Diamondbacks in five innings.
Sierra Dias supplied two hits and two runs for Gorman.
C.J. Wilson had two hits, and Allison Baney provided an RBI single for Desert Oasis.
Boulder City 13, Moapa Valley 3 — At Boulder City, Charlene Masterson went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and tossed a five-inning three-hitter as the Eagles secured at least a share of the Sunrise League title by topping the Pirates.
Alex Frye was 2-for-4, and Jessica Holling added a two-run homer for Boulder City.
Virgin Valley 28, Desert Pines 11 — At Desert Pines, Kayli Hughes had two doubles and two RBIs, and the Bulldogs used a 15-run first inning to rout the Jaguars in five innings.
Lexi Barnum doubled and had four RBIs for Virgin Valley.
Anna Torres, Dominique Hopkins and Nicole Medrano each had an RBI single for Desert Pines.
