SOFTBALL: Feiner’s gem helps Mustangs edge Aggies

Tana Feiner tossed a three-hitter and struck out 10 on Monday to lead Shadow Ridge’s softball team to a 1-0 win at Arbor View.

Maraya Lindo’s second-inning double plated Kate Dennis with the only run of the game. Dennis reached on an error to begin the inning.

The Aggies’ Ashlyn Ames also spun a three-hitter and struck out 10.

Silverado 10, Valley 0 — At Silverado, Brandi Splinter threw no-hitter as the Skyhawks blanked the Vikings in five innings.

Splinter walked five and struck out three. She also went 1-for-3 with a double for Silverado.

Arieana Monturio was 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs, and Korina Pindel went 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Silverado. Madison Sisco was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Sarah Ford was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for the Skyhawks.

Boulder City 10, Moapa Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Mikaela Brown spun a five-inning no-hitter with no walks and five strikeouts as the Eagles blanked the Pirates.

Kaila Davis had a double and three RBIs for Boulder City.

Moapa Valley’s lone runner reached on an error.

Green Valley 16, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Fenixx Henderson homered and tossed a one-hitter with six strikeouts as the Gators routed the Pioneers in five innings.

Alexa Blazek had three hits, including a triple and a double, and drove in two runs for Green Valley, which scored nine runs in the second inning.

Sierra Vista 4, Spring Valley 0 — At Sierra Vista, Kalei Watkins tossed a two-hitter, walking two and striking out 15, as the Mountain Lions blanked the Grizzlies.

Adrianna Somerville was 2-for-3, and Watkins went 2-for-4 for the Mountain Lions, who scored three runs in the first inning.

Rancho 8, Las Vegas 3 — At Las Vegas, Samantha Pochop pitched a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Rams topped the Wildcats.

Brandy Marlett hit a solo home run for Rancho, which broke open the game with a four-run sixth inning.

Tech 12, Sunrise Mountain 7 — At Sunrise Mountain, Ashley Ramsey had two doubles, and Emmalyne Laymon drove in three runs as the Roadrunners defeated the Miners.

Natalie Sharp was 4-for-5 with an RBI, and Natalia Rivera and Brittany Miller each went 2-for-3 for the Miners, who got two doubles from Andrea Garner.

Bishop Gorman 14, Cimarron-Memorial 4 — At Cimarron, Allie Tackett had a solo home run and had two RBIs as the Gaels downed the Spartans.

Ashley Witucki doubled and had two RBIs for the Gaels.

Rebecca Johnson doubled and drove in two runs for the Spartans, and teammate Rheanna Esparza had a solo home run.

Palo Verde 17, Durango 1 — At Durango, winning pitcher Rachel Williams went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBIs and tossed a four-hitter to lead the Panthers over the Trailblazers in five innings.

Rachael Turner was 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Melissa Lacro hit a two-run home run for Palo Verde.

Tori Ray went 2-for-2 for Durango.

Western 21, Chaparral 11 — At Chaparral, Jennessa Dunton went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double as the Warriors topped the Cowboys.

Nathalia Luna was 2-for-4 for Western, which led 15-0 in the fourth inning.

Brianna Clark was 3-for-4 with a triple for Chaparral.

Virgin Valley 17, Desert Pines 7 — At Desert Pines, Mikayla Brotherson went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Bulldogs by the Jaguars in five innings.

Maggie Dobbs was 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Virgin Valley.

Anna Torres was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Regina Villeda was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Desert Pines.
