SOFTBALL: Legacy rallies late to defeat host Cimarron

Clarissa Lona went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Haley Pederson tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts to help Legacy’s softball team earn a 6-5 win over host Cimarron-Memorial on Monday.

Angel Ortiz was 2-for-4 with three runs, and Kiana Tung had two RBIs for the Longhorns, who trailed 5-3 after five innings but scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead.

Pederson got a groundout and double play in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.

Kaeley Roldan was 2-for-4 with a double for Cimarron, and teammate Mya’Leah Bathea added a double.

Mojave 8, Western 5 — At Mojave, Jessica Ortiz doubled, tripled and had three RBIs to lead the Rattlers past the Warriors.

Jesika Smith and Natalie Paredes each drove in a run for the Rattlers.

Hayli Greenberg fanned seven over four innings to pick up the win in relief of Ariel Wilson.

Jennessa Dunton tripled for the Warriors.

Tech 6, Virgin Valley 3 — At Tech, Haylee Makue-Vasconcellos’ bases-clearing triple broke open a close game as the Roadrunners downed the Bulldogs.

Melissa Fuller also tripled for the Roadrunners.

Gizele Cascos pitched a complete-game five-hitter, fanning six, to pick up the victory.

Taylor Barnum doubled to lead the Bulldogs.

Arbor View 9, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Arbor View, Alyssa Trujillo went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Aggies over the Crusaders.

Makenzie Gillan was 2-for-3 with a double, Brittany Henricksen went 2-for-3 with a triple and Roxanne Ines was 2-for-3 for Arbor View.

Kaylea Patridge homered for the Aggies.

Breanne Henricksen went the distance and allowed an unearned run on four hits to get the win. She struck out four.

Cheyenne 11, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Cheyenne, Madelynn Kennedy threw a one-hitter to lead the Desert Shields to a six-inning win over the Miners.

Kennedy allowed an unearned run and struck out nine with one walk.

Kennedy also hit a triple, and Jonnette Paddy had two hits, three RBIs and a run for Cheyenne. Giovanna Bojorquez added two hits, three runs and two RBIs for the Desert Shields.

Bishop Gorman 16, Clark 0 — At Gorman, Gia Pergolini went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs to lead the Gaels to the three-inning win.

Darian Pancirov and Mallory Greenwood combined on a two-hit shutout for Gorman.

Pahrump Valley 19, Desert Pines 4 — At Pahrump, Jordan Egan went 2-for-2 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to help the Trojans to a three-inning win over the Jaguars.

Evandy Murphy was 2-for-2 with a triple, and Terrena Martin was 2-for-2 with two singles for Pahrump, which scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first.

Lake Mead 19-20, The Meadows 4-3 — At The Meadows, Josey White had three hits and four RBIs in the nightcap as the Eagles swept the Mustangs.

Allee Butz had three hits and three RBIs, and Luca Ford had two hits and two RBIs for Lake Mead.

In the first game, Ford had two hits and five RBIs to help the Eagles to the four-inning win.

White and Lauryn Freund each drove in two runs for the Eagles.

Hallie Monkarsh had two hits in the opener for The Meadows.

Rancho at Basic — The game was postponed because of rain.
