SOFTBALL: Masterson, Eagles shut out Bulldogs

Charlene Masterson tossed a five-inning one-hitter and struck out nine Tuesday to help host Boulder City’s softball team to a 10-0 win over Virgin Valley.

Masterson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Eagles, who led only 2-0 after three innings before scoring four runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to end the game.

Lily Osman went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Boulder City.

Palo Verde 7, Durango 1 — At Palo Verde, Jordan Menke went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI to help the Panthers top the Trailblazers.

Lauren Oxford was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Lauryn Barker added two hits for Palo Verde.

Haylee Lupinetti allowed a run on three hits in five innings to get the win, and Taylor Askland pitched two hitless innings of relief.

Las Vegas 10, Valley 0 — At Valley, Daylon Brooks was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run to help the Wildcats to the five-inning victory over the Vikings.

Cheyenne Porcella was 2-for-2 with three runs, and Marico Davis went 2-for-3 with two runs for Las Vegas.

Skylar Gorrell threw a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk to get the win.

Valley dressed only nine players, and finished the game with eight on the field after starting pitcher Kristina Manthei was injured when she was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the third.

Sunrise Mountain 12, Chaparral 6 — At Sunrise Mountain, Monica Fears went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs as the Miners topped the Cowboys.

Andrea Garner tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts for Sunrise Mountain, which got three runs from Brittany Miller.

Moapa Valley 22, Del Sol 1 — At Overton, Kessa Evans went 3-for-4 with a triple and five RBIs as the Pirates routed the Dragons in five innings.

Kyla Shumway was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, and Tapanga Durham went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Moapa Valley.

DaniElle Russo also had a double and four RBIs for the Pirates.

Silverado 21, Canyon Springs 2 — At Silverado, Korina Pindel went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and four RBIs as the Skyhawks blitzed the Pioneers in five innings.

Madison Sisco was 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs, and Gabby Santiago went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs for Silverado.

Emilee Kaye was 2-for-2 for Canyon Springs.

Tech 17, Desert Pines 3 — At Desert Pines, Haylee Makue-Vasconcellos was 3-for-3 with a home run and six RBIs as the Roadrunners topped the Jaguars in five innings.

Julia Lopez had four hits, and Vanessa Villalobos added three hits, including a triple and a double, for Tech.

Maiya Richardson was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Desert Pines.

Mountain View 7, Pahranagat Valley 6 — At Mountain View, Savannah Alley’s two-out triple in the bottom of the sixth inning drove in Tayah De’Bouck with the eventual winning run as the Saints edged the Panthers.

Alley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, tossed a three-hitter and struck out six.

Indian Springs 17, Agassi Prep 6 — At Indian Springs, Hannah Thormahlen and Astin Avery combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Thunderbirds downed the Stars.

Thormahlen also went 2-for-4 with two home runs and two RBIs, and Cheyanne Noyes went 3-3 for the Thunderbirds.

Lincoln County 10, Hurricane (Utah) 0 — At Panaca, Chesnee Harding went 3-for-4 with a triple and a double to help the Lynx top the Tigers in six innings.

Easton Tingey was 2-for-3 with a home run and a double, and Kia Phillips went 2-for-4 with a triple and a double for Lincoln County, which also got a home run from Cameron Lloyd.

Aspen Wilkin tossed a two-hitter and struck out two for the Lynx.
