SOFTBALL: San Juan Hills rallies to top Gorman

Sophia Marzolo went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs Friday to lead San Juan Hills (Calif.) to an 8-6 softball victory over Bishop Gorman in the Savanna Invitational in Anaheim, California.

The game was tied 5-5 before the Stallions rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth. Gorman scored once in the bottom of the inning, but the game was called after six because of the tournament time limit.

Sierra Dias went 3-for-3 to lead the Gaels.

Aliso Niguel (Calif.) 8, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Anaheim, California, Gen Brittingham was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs to lead the Wolverines past the Gaels in the Savanna Invitational.

Dias went 2-for-4 with a triple for Gorman.

Troy (Calif.) 3, Arbor View 0 — At Anaheim, California, Miranda Trinidad threw a three-hitter to lead the Warriors over the Aggies in the Savanna Invitational.

Trinidad struck out eight and walked two.

Lileya Kebos doubled for Arbor View.

Sunny Hills (Calif.) 12, Arbor View 6 — At Anaheim, California, Molly Grumbo had a double and a home run to lead the Lancers over the Aggies in the Savanna Invitational.

Taylor Whalen went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs for Arbor View.

Needles 25-23, Calvary Chapel 0-2 — At Calvary Chapel, the Mustangs allowed a total of four hits to earn a pair of five-inning wins.

Kourtni Fletcher threw a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in the opener. She also had a home run.

In the nightcap, Kaci Rodriguez pitched a three-hitter to get the win. Nicole Hooper homered in the second game for Needles.
