SOFTBALL: Sanchez, Lee help Rancho defeat Green Valley
Yvette Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Tiare Lee added a home run to help Rancho’s softball team to a 6-1 win at Green Valley on Tuesday.
Lili Gutierrez was 2-for-4 with a double for Rancho. Jahnae Davis-Houston was 2-for-3, and Alisa Blevins went 2-for-4 for the Rams.
Gutierrez and Sam Pochop combined on a two-hitter for Rancho.
Moapa Valley 10, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, Kyla Shumway went 2-for-3 with an RBI to help the Pirates top the Jaguars.
Daesha Stastny went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Maddie Curtis was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Moapa Valley.
Larisa Rios-Lizarraga was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Desert Pines, and teammate Maiya Richardson went 1-for-3 with a double.
Coronado 10, Basic 0 — At Basic, Ashley Ward fired a one-hitter and went 3-for-4 to lead the Cougars to the six-inning win over the Wolves.
Ward struck out 10 with no walks.
Brooke Younie went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Taylor Okamura was 3-for-3 with a double for the Cougars.
Basia Query added a triple and three RBIs for Coronado, and Sarah Pinkston drove in two runs.
Liberty 16, Eldorado 5 — At Liberty, Adara Leyba went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and Kelsey Camat-Toki was 3-for-3 with an RBI as the Patriots routed the Sundevils in five innings.
Cali Christopher went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Morgan LaNeve was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Liberty. Ashleigh Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Patriots, who scored six runs in the third inning and eight in the fourth.
Kristie Thomas went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Eldorado.
Tech 15, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Gizele Cascos and Ashlee Carratelli combined on a five-inning three-hitter as the Roadrunners blanked the Dragons.
Megan Thomas went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and teammate Lisette Sanchez was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs for Tech. Avery Rayos and Haylee Makue-Vasconcellos each finished 2-for-4 with two runs for the Roadrunners.
Las Vegas 18, Valley 2 — At Valley, Samantha Taylor spun a three-hitter and was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, and five RBIs as the Wildcats routed the Vikings in five innings.
Skylar Gorrell and Sabrina Saldate each had an RBI double for Las Vegas, which used a nine-run second inning to pull away.
Gabriella Morales tripled for Valley.
Western 13, Canyon Springs 1 — At Western, Makalita Moeaki and Gisela Cano combined on a two-hitter as the Warriors beat the Pioneers in five innings.
Moeaki allowed one hit in four shutout innings. She struck out six with two walks.
Alexis Moeaki went 1-for-2 with a triple, three RBIs and a run to help lead the Western offense. Ashley Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, and Mireya Villela was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and thee runs for the Warriors.
Boulder City 9, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Boulder City, Bailey Bennett-Jordan threw a four-hitter to lead the Eagles to the win over the Miners.
Bennett-Jordan struck out 10 with two walks. She also drove in a run.
Lily Osman had three hits, and Bryanna Lopez added two hits for Boulder City.
Virgin Valley 17, Chaparral 4 — At Mesquite, winning pitcher Adri Wakefield was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Bulldogs routed the Cowboys in five innings.
Janella Fiso was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Jessica Barnum went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs for Virgin Valley.
Alexis Montoya drove in three runs for Chaparral.
Lincoln County 7, Pahranagat Valley 4 — At Alamo, Drew Cardinal and Alisha Rowe each went 2-for-3, and the Lynx scored four runs in the second inning to defeat the Panthers.
Cameron Lloyd added a solo home run for Lincoln County.
Madalyn Taylor was 3-for-3 with a triple for Pahranagat Valley.
Indian Springs 20, Calvary Chapel 3 — At Indian Springs, Hannah Thormahlen had three hits, including a triple and a double, as the Thunderbirds routed the Lions in five innings.
Hannah Prine, Evangelia Tapia and Hailey Linfoot each added two hits for Indian Springs.
Lake Mead 24-29, Mountain View 2-9 — At Mountain View, the Eagles swept the Saints in a pair of five-inning games.
