Roundup: Coronado glides past Foothill
Brandon Nellis swam the 50 freestyle in 22.27 seconds to help Coronado’s swim team to a 176-136 win over Foothill at Heritage on Saturday.
Jared Miao won the 200 freestyle for the Cougars in 1:51.09 and the 100 butterfly in 55.73. Teammate Alex VanDamme won the 100 freestyle in 52.94.
Foothill’s Jacob Buckley won the 200 individual medley in 2:02.97 for the Falcons.
Palo Verde 156, Shadow Ridge 138 — At Pavilion, Braeden Werwinski finished the 50 freestyle in 23.19 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:03.31 to help the Panthers hold off the Mustangs.
Ren Prescott won the 100 freestyle in 52.03 seconds for Palo Verde, and Elijah Benigno won the 100 backstroke in 59.32 seconds.
Carson Cannon won the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.27 for Shadow Ridge.
Green Valley 199, Liberty 66 — At Heritage, Andrew Navarro of Green Valley posted a victorious time of 4:47.09 seconds in the 500 freestyle to help the Gators take care of the Patriots.
Navarro also won the 200 freestyle in 1:49.08, while teammate Danny Corona won the 50 freestyle in 24.78 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.18.
Silverado 161, Valley 48 — At Pavilion, Skyhawks swimmers swept the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles en route to a decisive victory over the Vikings.
Rycerj Trinidad added a win in the 500 freestyle for the Skyhawks.
Aidan white won the 100 backstroke for Valley in 56.81.
Spring Valley 167, Sierra Vista 73 — At Pavilion, Gavin Gould won the 50 freestyle in 24.36 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 55.75 seconds as the Grizzlies eased by the Mountain Lions.
Caleb Gould won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.31 for Spring Valley, and Oliver Moss won the 100 freestyle in 52.78 seconds.
Nikita Nazarov won the 500 freestyle in 4:58.30 for Sierra Vista.
Del Sol 95, Chaparral 90 — At Heritage, Anthony Rendon posted a time of 1:24.27 in the 100 backstroke to help the Dragons edge the Cowboys.
Adam Mirjanian completed the 200 freestyle in 1:52.65 to win the event for Chaparral.
Bishop Gorman 193, Desert Oasis 69 — At Pavilion, Patrick Streyle won the 200 freestyle in 1:55.51 and the 200 individual medley in 2:07.90 to lift the Gaels to a resounding win over the Diamondbacks.
He also added a victory in the 500 freestyle in 5:09.90, while Harry Peterson won the 100 freestyle in 56:94 for Gorman.
Michael Finetti swam the 100 breaststroke in a first-place time of 1:06.02 for Desert Oasis.
Boulder City 168.5, Las Vegas 110.5 — At Pavilion, the Eagles swept the 200 individual medley en route to a victory over the Wildcats.
Henry Blackburn added a victory in the 200 freestyle for Boulder City, finishing in 2:11.09.
Siavash Mirzazadeh won the 50 freestyle in 23.38 for Las Vegas.
Legacy 141, Cimarron-Memorial 92 — At Pavilion, Tama Tuitama completed the 50 freestyle in 22 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 55.35 seconds as the Longhorns rolled past the Spartans.
McKay Mickelson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.12 for Legacy, and Derek Urrutia won the 100 freestyle in 1:06.53.
Cooper Johnson won the 100 butterfly in 1:00.9 for Cimarron.
Rancho 146.50, Moapa Valley 89.50 — At Pavilion, Walfrido Mendoza claimed the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:24.34 to help the Rams take care of the Pirates.
Ezekiel Deniger won the 100 backstroke for Rancho in 1:19.28, and Noah Petty won the 50 freestyle in 28.59.
Moapa Valley’s Tyler Holmes took the 100 freestyle in 57.56.
Arbor View 194, Durango 47 — At Pavilion, Parker Menzie nabbed the 50 freestyle title in 25.72 seconds to help the Aggies demolish the Trail Blazers.
Caleb Scow added a victory in the 100 butterfly for Arbor View in 1:01.10, and Everett Rojas won the 100 backstroke in 1:01:31.
Pio Bragado of Durango took second in teh 100 freestyle in 1:04.33.
Virgin Valley 120, Sunrise Mountain 54 — At Pavilion, Ronald Nichols helped the Bulldogs sweep the 50 freestyle by posting a first-place time of 27.46 seconds in a decisive win over the Miners.
Shane Zarate won the 100 freestyle in 1:03.97 for Virgin Valley, and Keaton Ogden won the 100 backstroke in 1:20.00.
Frank Villalpando-Ortiz took the 200 freestyle for Sunrise Mountain with a time of 2:44.98.
Bonanza 158, Mojave 65, Western 25 — At Pavilion, David Een won the 100 freestyle in 58.33 seconds for the Bengals, who took care of business in a three-teamer.
Een also also completed the 500 freestyle in 6:41.97 to claim first place, while teammate TJ Faucher won the 200 freestyle in 2:54.35.
Mojave’s Salvador Moreno won the 50 freestyle in 31.97.
Basic 132, Canyon Springs 51 — At Heritage, Carson Small posted a time of 26.54 seconds in the 50 freestyle and 1:00.24 in the 100 freestyle to lead the Wolves in a win over the Pioneers.
Jack Foster claimed the 500 freestyle for Basic in 5:04.24, and Trevor Williams took the 100 backstroke in 59.83.
Alex Sanchez of Canyon Springs won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.47.
Centennial 173, Cheyenne 91 — At Pavilion, Kyle Paronto swam the 50 freestyle in 24.84 seconds as the Bulldogs handled the Desert Shields.
Bronson Benes picked up wins in the 100 backstroke (56.51) and 100 butterfly (56.16) for Centennial.
Aidan Nartker won the 200 freestyle for Cheyenne in 1:59.54.
Eldorado 122, Desert Pines 44 — At Heritage, Thomas Harris finished the 100 butterfly in 1:08.13 to help the Sundevils dismantle the Jaguars.
Harris also won the 500 freestyle in 6:21.63, and Ethan Ward won the 100 breaststroke in 1:27.82 for Eldorado.
Roberto Hernandez won the 50 freestyle for Desert Pines in 26.28 seconds.
Clark 171, Faith Lutheran 97 — At Pavilion, Andy Wang won the 100 freestyle for the Chargers in 50.71 to help them defeat the Crusaders.
Wang added a victory in the 100 backstroke (54.47) while teammate Jimmy Diedrichs won the 50 freestyle in 25.14.
Faith Lutheran’s Preston Berg earned a win in the 100 butterfly (1:10.48).
