ROUNDUP: Houck, Allen help Panther boys cruise past Gaels

Logan Houck and Forrest Allen each won two events Tuesday to lead Palo Verde’s boys swimming team to a 201-69 win over Bishop Gorman at Desert Breeze.

Houck won the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 49.31 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 4:47.1.
Allen added wins in the 50 freestyle (23.34) and 100 freestyle (51.02).

Arbor View 173, Faith Lutheran 109 — At Desert Breeze, Ryan Meservey won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.6 and the 200 individual medley in 2:27.75 to lead the Aggies past the Crusaders.

Faith Lutheran’s Bowen Becker won the 50 freestyle (23.46) and 200 freestyle (1:57.28), and teammate Riley Snyder won the 100 freestyle in 59.76 and the 100 backstroke in 1:14.53.

GIRLS

Bishop Gorman 174, Palo Verde 126 — At Desert Breeze, Olivia Barker won the 50 freestyle in 25.01 and the 100 butterfly in 57.03 to lead the Gaels past the Panthers.

Palo Verde’s Erin Emery won the 200 freestyle (1:53.39) and 500 freestyle (5:04.15), and teammate Hannah Thompson took the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.42 and the 200 individual medley in 2:26.15.

Arbor View 178, Faith Lutheran 127 — At Desert Breeze, the Aggies used their depth to overcome the Crusaders.

Faith Lutheran’s Caitlin Marks won the 50 freestyle (26.67) and 500 freestyle (5:28.14), and teammate Morgan Myers won the 100 butterfly in 1:11.97 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.07.
