ROUNDUP: Las Vegas boys swim past Valley
Paulo Almeida won two individual races Saturday at Heritage to help Las Vegas High’s boys swimming team to a 135-103 win over Valley.
Almeida won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 19.71 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 6:35.29.
Robert Nagele took the 50 freestyle (24.54) and the 100 butterfly (59.02) for Valley.
Boulder City 199½, Silverado 105½ — At Heritage, Dylan Bunch, Zane Grothe and Andrew Peterson each won twice as the Eagles topped the Skyhawks.
Bunch took the 200 (1:50.68) and 500 freestyles (4:47.44). Grothe captured the 100 freestyle (47.74) and 100 backstroke (54.68), and Peterson won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.90) and 200 individual medley (2:02.24).
Coronado 168½, Durango 121½ — At Heritage, Jacob Luna claimed the 200 individual medley (2:00.25) and the 100 backstroke (54.09) in the Cougars’ victory over the Trailblazers.
Matt Dangleis won the 100 (53.36) and 200 freestyles (1:58.37) for Durango.
Clark 144, Desert Oasis 132 — At Municipal, Billy Wang won the 200 individual medley in 2:14.70 and the 100 backstroke in 1:00.68 to help the Chargers slip past the Diamondbacks.
Desert Oasis’ Logan Price won the 50 (25.37) and 100 freestyles (57.72), and teammate Evan Hasberry took the 100 butterfly (1:01.75) and 500 freestyle (6:12.88).
Spring Valley 125, Legacy 100 — At Municipal, Dylan Wolf, Brett Beck and Jesse Dwyer each took two events as the Grizzlies downed the Longhorns.
Wolf claimed the 200 individual medley (2:01.31) and 200 freestyle (1:44.02), Beck won the 100 butterfly (55.62) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.72), and Dwyer captured the 100 backstroke (59.31) and 500 freestyle (5:11.72).
Bonanza 165, Sierra Vista 109 — At Municipal, the Bengals swept the relay events on the way to victory over the Mountain Lions.
Sierra Vista’s Emile Maritz won the 50 freestyle (23.18) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.90), and teammate Anton Novikov claimed the 100 (54.99) and 200 freestyles (2:06.27).
Rancho 188, Desert Pines 48 — At Municipal, Mavrik Thomas and Estuardo Florez each had two of the Rams’ 10 event wins as Rancho rolled past the Jaguars.
Thomas won the 100 backstroke in 1:08.67 and the 200 freestyle in 2:16.84. Florez captured the 200 individual medley (2:30.05) and 500 freestyle (6:05.14).
Basic 120, Del Sol 43 — At Multi-Generational, Travis Taitano won the 50 freestyle in 24.23 and the 100 freestyle in 53.61 to lead the Wolves past the Dragons.
Cabe St. John took the 200 individual medley (2:34.31) and 500 freestyle (6:36.70) for Del Sol.
Liberty 71, Canyon Springs 25 — At Multi-Generational, Roberto Cetina and Donald Madson each won two events as the Patriots downed the Pioneers.
Cetina took the 50 (25.78) and 100 freestyles (1:01.44), and Madson claimed the 100 backstroke (1:00.00) and 200 individual medley (2:30.79).
Jonathan Inchaurregui won the 200 (2:16.86) and 500 freestyles (6:36.56) for Canyon Springs.
Centennial 157, Shadow Ridge 130 — At Desert Breeze, Trevor Pollom won the 50 freestyle (24.36) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.54), helping the Bulldogs down the Mustangs.
Stuart Jacobson captured the 100 butterfly (58.20) and 500 freestyle (5:11.82) for Shadow Ridge.
Cheyenne 126, Western 93 — At Desert Breeze, Darian Coats and Kyle Anderson each had won two events as the Desert Shields topped the Warriors.
Coats claimed the 50 (25.99) and 100 freestyles (1:04.67), and Anderson won the 100 backstroke (1:13.80) and 100 butterfly (1:16.71).
Cimarron-Memorial 163, Faith Lutheran 125 — At Desert Breeze, Irving Gomez Velazquez won the 500 freestyle in 5:51.92 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.19 to help the Spartans past the Crusaders.
Dylan Barnes took the 200 individual medley (2:16.00) and the 100 backstroke (59.91) for Faith Lutheran.
Mojave 22, The Meadows 11 — At Desert Breeze, Jordan Fisher won the 50 (29.78) and 100 freestyles (1:07.37) to carry the Rattlers past the Mustangs.
