GIRLS SWIMMING: Beachler, Schutte help Longhorns top Bonanza
Joelle Beachler and Isabella Schutte each won two individual events Saturday to help Legacy’s girls swimming team to a 162-88 win over Bonanza at Pavilion.
Beachler took the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 7.03 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.44.
Schutte claimed the 200 individual medley in 2:24.04 and the 500 freestyle in 5:44.13.
Bonanza’s Kaylee Ramirez was first in the 100 freestyle in 1:06.5 and the 50 freestyle in 29.9.
Palo Verde 217, Durango 64 — At Pavilion, Grace Siebmann won two individual events to help the Panthers down the Trailblazers.
Siebmann won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.03 and the 500 freestyle in 5:28.12.
Centennial 212, Cimarron-Memorial 38 — At Pavilion, Maddie Cartmill won two individual events as the Bulldogs defeated the Spartans.
Cartmill won the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.26 and the 50 freestyle in 27.56.
Cheyenne 69, Desert Pines 67 — At Pavilion, Tallyn Clark won two individual events to help the Desert Shields nip the Jaguars.
Clark won the 100 freestyle in 1:02.65 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.25.
Desert Pines’ Becca Hernandez won the 100 butterfly in 1:18.56 and the 50 freestyle in 31.74.
Basic 143, Liberty 124 — At Heritage Park, Michaela Day, Sarah Rodriguez and Brooke Skelly each won two individual events as the Wolves downed the Patriots.
Day took the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.07 and the 500 freestyle in 5:40.53. Rodriguez won the 200 individual medley in 2:35.32 and the 100 butterfly in 1:09.78. Skelly was victorious in the 200 freestyle in 2:16.2 and the 100 backstroke in 1:13.13.
Liberty’s Jada Whited won the 50 freestyle in 30.28 and the 100 freestyle in 1:06.59.
Coronado 207, Silverado 52 — At Heritage Park, Sophia Garritano won one event and finished second in another as the Cougars defeated the Skyhawks.
Garritano won the 200 freestyle in 2:10.41 and took second in the 100 butterfly.
Virgin Valley 138, Eldorado 71 — At Heritage Park, Kennedi Ludvigson won two individual events to help the Bulldogs down the Sundevils.
Ludvigson won the 200 individual medley in 2:53.25 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.18.
Eldorado’s Haley Dudley claimed the 100 backstroke in 1:18.19 and the 100 freestyle in 1:09.53.
Foothill 168, Las Vegas 111 — At Heritage Park, Faith Brazil, Myna Buckley and Lily Jesperson each won two individual events to lead the Falcons by the Wildcats.
Brazil won the 200 individual medley in 2:31.2 and the 100 freestyle in 1:02.09. Buckley claimed the 500 freestyle in 5:59.8 and the 50 freestyle in 27.2. Jesperson won the 200 freestyle in 2:14.78 and the 100 backstroke in 1:05.1.
Rancho 94, Moapa Valley 87 — At Heritage Park, Olivia Johnson was first in two individual events to help the Rams edge the Pirates.
Johnson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.12 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.78.
Moapa Valley’s Hannah Sheldon took the 50 freestyle in 32.48 and the 100 freestyle in 1:13.41.
Chaparral 112, Sunrise Mountain 101 — At Heritage Park, Shelbee Mirjanian and Gabby Hernandez each won two individual events to lift the Cowboys by the Miners.
Mirjanian took the 200 freestyle in 2:43.92 and the 500 freestyle in 7:31.22.
Hernandez won the 50 freestyle in 33.48 and the 100 freestyle in 1:15.59.
Tech 167½, Del Sol 114½ — At Heritage Park, Veronica Perez and Natalie Velez each won one individual event and finished second in another to help the Roadrunners defeat the Dragons.
Perez won the 100 backstroke in 1:24.01 and was second in the 200 freestyle, and Velez took the 50 freestyle in 32.54 and was second in the 500 freestyle.
Del Sol’s Celine Otto won the 100 freestyle in 1:08.95 and the 200 freestyle in 2:39.53, and teammate Bridget Droegemueller won the 200 individual medley in 2:35.99 and the 500 freestyle in 5:54.45.
Boulder City 182, Valley 72 — At Heritage Park, Montana Lloyd and Mandy Gebhart each won two individual events to lead the Eagles by the Vikings.
Lloyd won the 100 backstroke in 59.08 and the 200 individual medley in 2:09.74.
Gebhart took the 50 freestyle in 25.84 and the 500 freestyle in 5:15.03.
