Here are 2016’s All-State Girls Swimming teams
First Team
Amanda Baird, Coronado
The freshman was the Division I state and Sunrise Region champion in one-meter diving. Her score of 457.15 points at the state meet ranks No. 9 all time in Nevadaa.
Izzy Goldsmith, Palo Verde
The UCLA-bound senior standout posted the fastest time in state history in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.59) and also won the 50 freestyle (23.11) at the Division I state meet.
Hailey Houck, Palo Verde
The senior was the Division I Sunset Region champion in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. Houck was second in both events at the state meet. She has signed with Cal Poly.
Shelby Koontz, Douglas
The Indiana signee set a Division I state-meet record in the 200 IM (2:02.57). The senior also won her second straight state title in the 100 butterfly with the No. 2 time in state history (55.16).
Montana Lloyd, Boulder City
The junior set Division I-A state-meet records in the 200 IM (2:05.30) and the 100 backstroke (56.31) to help the Eagles capture their fourth straight girls state team title.
McKenna Meyer, Galena
The senior was the Division I Northern Region champion in the distance freestyles. Meyer was second at the state meet in the 200 (1:48.51) and third in the 500. She signed with San Diego State.
Victoria Navarro, Green Valley
The sophomore set Division I Sunrise Region meet records in the 50 and 500 freestyles. She was second at state in both events and posted an automatic All-America time in the 500 (4:49.86).
Abby Richter, Green Valley
Ranked as one of the nation’s top recruits for 2017, Richter lowered her own state record in the 100 backstroke (54.34) and set the mark in the 200 freestyle (1:48.05) at the Division I state meet. She recently made an oral commitment to Virginia.
Erica Sullivan, Palo Verde
The sophomore distance specialist won the 200 and 500 freestyles at the Division I Sunset Region meet and bettered the state-meet record in the 500 (4:47.44) by more than two seconds.
Second Team
Elizabeth Clinch, Green Valley
The sophomore was the Division I Sunrise Region champion in the 200 IM. Clinch was third in that event and second in the 100 backstroke at the state meet.
Donna DePolo, Bishop Manogue
The junior was the Division I Northern Region champion in the 100 breaststroke. DePolo was second at the state meet with an automatic All-America time (1:02.72).
Allie Emery, Palo Verde
The sophomore claimed Division I state and Sunset Region titles in the 100 freestyle and finished fourth at the state meet in the 50 freestyle.
Sara Gong, Coronado
The junior was third in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 breaststroke to help the Cougars finish in third place as a team at the Division I state meet.
Reese Lamph, Palo Verde
The junior was fourth in the 200 and 500 freestyles at the Division I state meet and also swam a leg on the Panthers’ 400 freestyle relay that took second.
Madison Moffett, Spanish Springs
The sophomore was the Division I Northern Region runner-up in one-meter diving and scored 397.7 points to finish second at the state meet.
Rose Pouch, Boulder City
The freshman was one of the top scorers for the Division I-A state team champions. Pouch finished first in the 100 and 200 freestyles and was part of two state title-winning relays.
Grace Siebmann, Palo Verde
The sophomore was third in the 100 breaststroke and fourth in the 200 IM at the Division I state meet after finishing as the Sunset Region runner-up in both events.
Brittney Straw, Truckee
The senior was the Division I-A Northern Region and state champion in the 100 breaststroke. Straw also finished second at the state meet in the 200 IM.
Coach of the Year
Brent Gonzalez, Palo Verde
Gonzalez, in his 12th year as coach, led the Panthers to their second straight Division I state team title. Palo Verde swimmers won four individual events and the team overcame a disqualification in the 200 medley relay to finish 19 points ahead of Green Valley.
