ROUNDUP: Harris fuels Silverado girls to second place in Las Vegas Invitational

Mallory Harris won the 100-yard butterfly in 59.59 seconds and 100 breaststroke in 1:08.05 on Saturday to help Silverado’s girls swimming team to a second-place finish in the 11-team Las Vegas Invitational at UNLV.
Northwood (Calif.) won the meet with 474½ points. Silverado was second with 342, followed by Kennedy (Calif.) with 329½, Bishop Gorman with 263 and Palo Verde with 261.
Bishop Gorman’s Meghan Boland also captured two individual events, winning the 100 freestyle in 55.88 and the 200 individual medley in 2:04.52, and teammate Kasey Marks won the 200 freestyle in 2:04.52.
The Gaels had the winning 200 medley (1:59.52) and 200 freestyle (1:49.09) relay teams.
Palo Verde’s Kim Coombs claimed the 500 freestyle in 5:36.28.
Foothill’s Tabitha Reyes won the 1-meter diving competition with 93.4 points.
Eldorado 125, Faith Lutheran 98 — At Multi-Generational, Lynnette Molitor took the 100 (1:03.84) and 200 freestyle (2:20.81) to lead the Sundevils past the Crusaders.
Faith Lutheran’s Samantha Kendrick won the 100 backstroke in 1:25.65 and the 200 individual medley in 3:14.94, and teammate Kate Anderson captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:30.22 and the 500 freestyle in 7:03.21.
Bonanza 195, Liberty 66 — At Multi-Generational, Katharine Essa and Michelle Bryne won two events apiece as the Bengals topped the Patriots.
Essa claimed the 50 freestyle in 30.09 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:30.65, and Bryne took the 100 butterfly in 1:17.72 and the 500 freestyle in 6:59.18.
Cimarron-Memorial 132, Chaparral 69 — At Multi-Generational, the Spartans won nine of the 12 events and breezed past the Cowboys.
Chaparral’s Cydney Stephensen captured the 50 (29.12) and 100 freestyle (1:02.72).
 
Coronado 181, Boulder City 118 — At Multi-Generational, Sammy Harrison won the 200 (1:54.62) and 500 freestyle (5:04.82) to lead the Cougars past the Eagles.
Boulder City’s Natalie Grothe took the 200 individual medley in 2:19.08 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.9.
Desert Oasis 198, Western 50 — At Desert Breeze, Allison Reiplinger and Allison Lubsey each had two individual wins as the Diamondbacks downed the Warriors.
Reiplinger won the 100 breaststroke in 1:25.44 and the 200 freestyle in 2:11.39. Lubsey took the 100 butterfly in 1:06.9 and the 50 freestyle in 29.72.
Arbor View 202, Durango 96 — At Desert Breeze, Linsey Tschetter captured the 100 (1:05.43) and 200 freestyle (2:27.85) to help the Aggies defeat the Trailblazers.
Durango’s Evelynne Hernandez won the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.09 and the 200 individual medley in 2:40.25.
