ROUNDUP: Eldorado’s boys clinch share of Northeast crown
T.J. Swain went 3-0 in singles Wednesday to help Eldorado lock up at least a share of the Northeast League boys tennis title with a 13-5 win at Valley.
The doubles teams of Dalton Carpenello and Adam Gallegos, and Isaiah Hernandez and Joey Barnhurst both went 3-0 for the Sundevils, who will be the Northeast’s No. 1 seed in next week’s Sunrise Region playoffs.
Mitchell Diesko finished 2-1 in singles for Valley.
Rancho 11, Desert Pines 7— At Desert Pines, Austin Marett went 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Daniel John and Kamran Baig went 3-0 as the Rams beat the Jaguars.
Chaparral 15, Moapa Valley 3 — At Chaparral, Michael Golightly and Brian Newman each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Cowboys over the Pirates.
Chaparral’s doubles teams of Eric Hansen and Dylan Mauceri, and Trevor Kofford and Edgar Munoz also went 3-0.
Bonanza 14, Virgin Valley 4 — At Bonanza, Craig Whiting and Trevor Jacobsen went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Bengals past the Bulldogs.
Bonanza’s Yang Yang was 2-0 in singles.
Sierra Vista 12, Desert Oasis 6 — At Sierra Vista, Preston Miranda and Braxton Wardle each went 3-0 in singles play to lead the Mountain Lions over the Diamondbacks.
Durango 13, Spring Valley 5— At Spring Valley, the doubles teams of Matt Leavitt and Marvin Pagayonan, and Zach Aranda and David Ocampo both went 3-0 to help the Trailblazers beat the Grizzlies.
Ishmael Gibson went 3-0 in singles for Spring Valley.
Coronado 16, Silverado 2 — At Coronado, Mitchell Smith was 3-0 in singles to help the Cougars rout Silverado and finish 10-0 in the regular season.
Kai Carl and Justen English went 3-0 in doubles for Coronado.
Devon Morrisey was 2-0 in singles for the Skyhawks.
Liberty 12, Del Sol 6— At Del Sol, Michael Loreto went 3-0 in singles to lead the Patriots past the Dragons.
Tommy Gugino and Anthony Gugino went 3-0 in doubles for Del Sol, and teammates Jamie Giumta and Joey Baggs went 2-1 in doubles.
Green Valley 13, Basic 5 — At Basic, Jake Cahill and Caleb Camp each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Gators past the Wolves.
Corey Gilligan and Bryce Wellman went 3-0 in doubles play to lead Basic.
Boulder City 13, Tech 5 — At Boulder City, the host Eagles downed the Roadrunners.
Cimarron-Memorial 12, Mojave 0 — At Cimarron, the host Spartans won by forfeit.
Bishop Gorman 12, Western 0 — At Western, the visiting Gaels won by forfeit.
Las Vegas 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Las Vegas, the host Wildcats won by forfeit.
