ROUNDUP: Gates leads Moapa Valley girls past rival Bulldogs

Jennessa Gates went 3-0 in singles Friday to help Moapa Valley’s girls tennis team to a 14-4 win over visiting Virgin Valley.

The Pirates’ doubles teams of Alyx Waite and Holly Rust, and Kaitlyn Marshall and Lauren Bessey both went 2-0.

Eldorado 10, Basic 8 — At Basic, the doubles teams of Yoli Carrillo and Dora Carrillo, and Jasmine Sanchez and Kerrigan Holman each went 3-0 as the Sundevils edged the Wolves.

Paige Blake was 3-0 in singles for Basic.

Liberty 11, Del Sol 7 — At Liberty, Sheen Kachen went 3-0 in singles to help the Patriots down the Dragons.

Milady Ramirez was 2-1 in singles for Del Sol.

Coronado 18, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, the doubles teams of Marina Arriola and Marlee Allison, and Olivia Arriola and Tiffany Nguyen each went 3-0 to lead the Cougars to a sweep of the Falcons.

Shadow Ridge 14, Arbor View 4 — At Arbor View, Kayley Green and Angel Ong went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Mustangs by the Aggies.

Elen Safarian went 2-1 in singles for Arbor View.

The Meadows 17, Clark 1 — At Clark, Erika Mauban went 3-0 in singles as the Mustangs rolled past the Chargers.

The doubles teams of Taler Brazell and Shaley Shah, and Amanda Brazell and Shalini Shah both went 3-0 for The Meadows.

Durango 16, Spring Valley 2 — At Durango, Sabrina Foreman and Sarah Wondom both went 3-0 in singles to lead the Trailblazers past the Grizzlies.

Palo Verde 18, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Nikki Newell went 3-0 in singles as the Panthers swept the Mountain Lions.

Desert Pines 13, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Desert Pines, Mekham Singkhamta and Ashley Palacios swept their three doubles sets en route to helping the Jaguars down the Miners.

Boulder City 13, Chaparral 5 — At Boulder City, the Eagles downed the Cowboys.

Faith Lutheran 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, the Crusaders won by forfeit.

BOYS

Arbor View 10, Shadow Ridge 9 — At Arbor View, Donavan Tracy went 3-0 in singles, and the Aggies survived a tiebreaker to nip the Mustangs.

The teams split their 18 regulation sets, and each won three of the six tiebreakers, but the Aggies outscored Shadow Ridge, 59-48 in the tiebreaker round.

Ben Davis and Tim Payne were 3-0 in doubles for Shadow Ridge.

Basic 10, Eldorado 8 — At Basic, Dylan Nanni was 3-0 in singles to help the Wolves edge the Sundevils.

Logan Green and Ryan Weldon were 2-0 in doubles for Basic.

Joey Barnhurst and Seattle Stoneback went 3-0 in doubles for Eldorado.

Durango 11, Spring Valley 7 — At Durango, Kent Rockwell and Niko Zelenovic went 3-0 in doubles as the Trailblazers downed the Grizzlies.

Ozzie Tavares was 3-0 in singles to lead Spring Valley.

Clark 12, The Meadows 6 — At Clark, Deric Pang went 3-0 in singles to help the Chargers top the Mustangs.

The doubles teams of Mark McCrary and Caleb Chen, and Kenny Daniels and Chitanya Ingle each went 3-0 for Clark.

Evan Roth and Mario Gamboa both were 2-1 in singles for The Meadows.

Virgin Valley 10, Moapa Valley 8 — At Overton, Kadan Atkin went 3-0 in singles, and Nate Hughes and Tim Crosley were 3-0 in doubles as the Bulldogs edged the Pirates.

Skyler Hill went 2-1 in singles to lead Moapa Valley.

Coronado 16, Foothill 2 — At Foothill, Patrick Crockett and Troy Nguyen went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Cougars by the Falcons.

Palo Verde 15, Sierra Vista 3 — At Sierra Vista, Rhett Bossung, Kota Cook and Josh Kaplan all went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers topped the Mountain Lions.
