ROUNDUP: Weldon, Long help Basic boys outlast Bulldogs
Ryan Weldon and Tyler Long teamed up to go 3-0 in doubles play Friday as Basic’s boys tennis team edged visiting Virgin Valley, 10-8.
Kyle Silva was 2-1 in singles for the Wolves.
Kody Cloes went 3-0 in singles for the Bulldogs.
Coronado 10, Bishop Gorman 8 — At Gorman, the doubles teams of Kai Carl and Xavier Smith, and Jon Berberich and Christian Pate each went 3-0 to help the Cougars hold off the Gaels.
Mitchell Smith was 2-1 in singles for Coronado, which rallied from a 4-2 deficit after the first round.
Kyle Del Rosario was 3-0 and Cody Miller finished 2-1 in singles for Gorman.
