SPARTAN CUP: Centennial’s Beck takes boys top flight title

Centennial’s Travis Beck won a pair of matches Saturday to capture the championship of the Spartan Bracket of the Spartan Cup tennis tournament at Cimarron-Memorial.

Beck was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Cimarron’s Aaron Bowers in the final.

Cimarron’s Aaron Madsen claimed the Athens Bracket final. Teammates Brian Grupe (Troy Bracket) and Taylor Larsen (Roman Bracket) also won flights.

In boys doubles, Centennial’s Drake Sacenti and Tyler Collins teamed to win the Spartan Bracket, defeating Durango’s Jeffery Leavitt and Marvin Pagayonan, 6-2, 6-2.

In girls singles, Cimarron’s Staryln Thomas captured the Spartan Bracket, defeating teammate Natasha Tocco, 6-2, 6-1.

Shadow Ridge’s Jamie Andrade won the girls Athens Bracket.

In doubles, Durango’s Alexis Garrett and Hannah Sulzer took the Spartan Bracket with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Bonanza’s Isabella Minoli and Emily Ruskowitz.

Centennial’s Daryn Frischknecht and Danielle Gordon won the Athens Bracket.
