TENNIS: Doubles teams help Faith Lutheran boys hold off Bonanza

The doubles teams of Mike Fiscus and Damon Phillips, and Jonah Grepke and Quinn O’Sullivan both went 1-0 Saturday to help Faith Lutheran’s boys tennis team to an 11-7 win over Bonanza at Durango.

Andy Stephenson and Cyrus Nelson each went 3-0 in singles for the Bengals.

Bonanza 10, Durango 7 — At Durango, Stephenson and Nelson both went 3-0 in singles to lead the Bengals by the Trailblazers.

Nikola Zelenovic and Mitchell Pate went 3-0 in doubles for Durango.

Faith Lutheran 14, Durango 4 — At Durango, Donovan Evangelio was 1-0 in singles as the Crusaders topped the Trailblazers.

The doubles teams of Kyle Avery and Tony Barbarite, and Julian Lin and Andre Khoury both went 1-0 for Faith Lutheran.

Eldorado 16, Desert Pines 2 — At Eldorado, the doubles teams of David Decker and Dakota Shults, and Justin Sith and Manuel Serrano each went 3-0 as the Sundevils downed the Jaguars.

GIRLS

Bonanza 12, Durango 6 — At Durango, Emma Nelson was 3-0 in singles to help the Bengals down the Trailblazers.

Lauren Smith was 2-0 in singles for Bonanza.

Gabrielle Leynes and Jamie Wong went 3-0 in doubles to lead Durango.

Faith Lutheran 18, Durango 0 — At Durango, Kathleen Wright went 3-0 in singles, and Madison Foley was 2-0 in singles as the Crusaders swept the Trailblazers.

Faith Lutheran 13, Bonanza 5 — At Durango, Wright was 3-0 in singles, and Foley went 2-0 in singles to help the Crusaders down the Bengals.

Desert Pines 11, Eldorado 7 — At Eldorado, Ashley Palacios was 3-0 in singles to help the Jaguars top the Sundevils.

Veronica Palacios was 2-1 in singles for Desert Pines.

Avery Swain and Kim Fernandez went 3-0 in doubles to lead Eldorado.
