TENNIS: Valle, Roadrunners win tiebreaker over Eagles

Christian Valle went 3-0 in singles Tuesday to help Tech’s boys tennis team to a 10-9 win over visiting Boulder City.

The teams split their 18 regulation sets before the Roadrunners captured five of the six tiebreaker games to earn the win.

Zac West and Aram Gulasarrian were 2-0 in doubles for Tech.

Coronado 13, Basic 5 — At Basic, Kian Habashi went 3-0 in singles to help the Cougars beat the Wolves.

Kyle Harris and Connor Vermeys went 3-0 in doubles to help Coronado.

Shadow Ridge 11, Durango 7 — At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs defeated the Trailblazers.

Marc Viernes was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Mitchell Pate and Nikola Zelenovic went 3-0 for Durango.

Desert Pines 11, Chaparral 7 — At Desert Pines, Danny Keosavang and Artemio Gonzalez each went 3-0 in singles to help the Jaguars defeat the Cowboys.

Foothill 14, Rancho 4 — At Rancho, Kirk Peralta and Teodor Drabicki each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Falcons by the Rams.

Andy Gamboa and Jacob Egan were 3-0 in doubles for Rancho.

Palo Verde 18, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Rhett Bossung, Danny Patho and Ethan Ballard all went 2-0 in singles to help the Panthers blank the Longhorns.

The doubles teams of Brandon Sulzberg and Conor Safbom, and Kota Cook and Teijiro Nishimura both went 2-0 for the Panthers.

Green Valley 10, Eldorado 8 — At Green Valley, the Gators nipped the Sundevils.

GIRLS

Durango 10, Shadow Ridge 8 — At Shadow Ridge, Brittany Gomez and Gabrielle Leynes each went 3-0 in singles to help the Trailblazers edge the Mustangs.

Jamie Wong and Princess Canasa were 3-0 in doubles for Durango.

Boulder City 12, Tech 6 — At Tech, Melissa O’Berto went 3-0 in singles to help the Eagles defeat the Roadrunners.

Green Valley 13, Eldorado 5 — At Green Valley, Racquel Holder went 2-0 in singles to help the Gators down the Sundevils.

Green Valley’s Olivia Song and Madelaine Smith went 2-0 in doubles.

Foothill 13, Rancho 5 — At Rancho, Lilly Nettles and Morgan Hawkins each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Falcons by the Rams.

Destiny Trujeque and Maiyah Norton were 3-0 in doubles for Rancho.

Coronado 15, Basic 3 — At Basic, Lauren Coons was 3-0 in singles to help the Cougars cruise past the Wolves.

Samantha Ross went 2-0 in singles for Coronado.

Desert Pines 15, Chaparral 3 — At Desert Pines, Ashley Palacios went 3-0 in singles, and Cecelia Garcia Leon and Veronica Palacios each went 2-0 in singles as the Jaguars downed the Cowboys.

The doubles teams of Christine Berja and Paige DeGuzman, Shelly Alvarado and Allyza Casal, and Cassandra Bueno and Stephanie Aviles all went 2-0 for Desert Pines.

Palo Verde 18, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, the doubles teams of Michaela Jackson and Lindsey Tibbles, and Alexis Day and Gabrielle Colgan each went 2-0 as the Panthers swept the Longhorns.

Valley at Liberty — The Valley at Liberty match, originally scheduled for Monday, was postponed again Tuesday. No reason was given for the postponement.
