GIRLS TENNIS: Bengals edge Diamondbacks in tiebreaker
Lauren Smith went 2-0 in singles, and Bonanza’s girls tennis team won five of six tiebreaker games Wednesday to post a 10-9 win at Desert Oasis.
Kim Pace and Kayla Sylvester finished 2-0 in doubles for the Bengals.
Charlene Velasco and Courtney Peritz went 3-0 in doubles for the Diamondbacks.
Tech 12, Desert Pines 6 — At Tech, the doubles teams of Veronica Paltaratskqya and Avery Rayos, and Lourdes Santiago and Andrea Hughey each went 3-0 to help the Roadrunners defeat the Jaguars.
Ashley Palacios was 3-0 in singles for Desert Pines.
Cimarron-Memorial 13, Legacy 5 — At Legacy, Makenna Osborne and Alexi Schumacher went 3-0 in doubles, and Tiersa Schultz was 3-0 in singles as the Spartans beat the Longhorns.
Avi Shelton and Sharita Green went 2-0 in doubles, and teammate Haley Strong was 2-1 in singles for Legacy.
Faith Lutheran 15, Clark 3 — At Darling Tennis Center, Madison Foley and Vanessa Lee each went 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders topped the Chargers.
Abbey Escala and Paige Smith were 2-0 in doubles for Clark.
Moapa Valley 13, Chaparral 5 — At Chaparral, the Pirates won eight of the nine doubles sets and defeated the Cowboys.
Ellie Anderson and Joana Naguit each went 2-1 in singles for Chaparral.
Bishop Gorman 16, Centennial 2 — At Gorman, Amber Del Rosario and Amanda Adolfo went 3-0 in doubles as the Gaels routed the Bulldogs.
Monika Ryan was 2-0 in singles for Gorman.
Boulder City 12, Virgin Valley 6 — At Boulder City, Arianne Hess was 3-0 in singles to help the Eagles defeat the Bulldogs.
Durango 13, Del Sol 5 — At Durango, Christina Sanders was 3-0 in singles to lead the Trailblazers to victory over the Dragons.
Milady Ramirez and Alina Marruffo were 3-0 in doubles for Del Sol.
The Meadows 17, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Kathy Bond and Anuja Daulat won their lone doubles set as the Mustangs rolled by the Desert Shields.
