GIRLS TENNIS: Gorman tops Bonanza to claim Southwest League’s top spot
Chelsea Crovetti and Amber Del Rosario each went 3-0 in singles Friday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls tennis team to a 13-5 win at Bonanza in a showdown for the Southwest League title.
Monika Ryan and Stephanie Ingaramo were 3-0 in doubles for the Gaels, who finished 10-0 in the league.
Kim Pace and Kayla Sylvester were 2-1 in doubles for the Bengals, who finished 8-2 in league play.
Desert Oasis 12, Cimarron-Memorial 6 — At Cimarron, Miya Nakao was 3-0 in singles to lead the Diamondbacks over the Spartans.
Charlene Velasco and Courtney Peritz went 3-0 in doubles for Desert Oasis.
Makenna Osborne and Alexi Schumacher finished 2-1 in doubles for Cimarron.
The two teams will meet again at 3 p.m. Monday at Desert Oasis in a play-in match to determine the Southwest League’s final postseason spot.
Durango 10, Arbor View 8 — At Arbor View, Christina Sanders was 3-0 in singles as the Trailblazers held off the Aggies in a match that was suspended on Sept. 9 by rain and again on Sept. 24 by darkness.
Durango and Shadow Ridge will meet in a play-in match at 3 p.m. Monday at Shadow Ridge to determine the Northwest League’s final postseason spot.
Boulder City 11, Moapa Valley 7 — At Overton, Melissa O’Berto and Taylor Finn each went 3-0 in singles to help the Eagles top the Pirates.
Sariah Gneiting and Alexis LeMaster were 3-0 in doubles for Boulder City.
Holly Rust and Kaitlyn Marshall went 2-1 in doubles for Moapa Valley.
Centennial 15, Legacy 3 — At Centennial, Bethannie Tamargo and Sydni Cerioli each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Bulldogs by the Longhorns.
Tech 13, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Sunrise Mountain, Sydney Bunker and Jasmine Thawesee each went 3-0 in singles as the Roadrunners downed the Miners.
Virgin Valley 18, Chaparral 0 — At Mesquite, Kaycee Anderson, Jessica Gomez and Emily Andreola all went 3-0 in singles as the Bulldogs swept the Cowboys.
Clark 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Clark, the Chargers won by forfeit.
Mojave 12, Western 0 — At Mojave, the Rattlers won by forfeit. Mojave and Adelson School will meet in a play-in match at 3 p.m. Monday to determine the Sunset League’s final postseason spot.
