GIRLS TENNIS: McDonald, Roberts help Gaels beat Bengals
Julia MacDonald and Bailey Roberts went 3-0 in doubles on Monday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls tennis team to a 13-5 win over visiting Bonanza.
Zoe Lier was 2-0 in singles for the Gaels.
Virgin Valley 10, Desert Pines 9 — At Mesquite, Emily Andreola and Jessica Gomez were 3-0 in doubles to help the Bulldogs edge the Jaguars in a tiebreaker.
The teams split their 18 regulation sets, and each won three of the six tiebreaker games, but Virgin Valley outscored Desert Pines, 32-30 in the tiebreaker games to earn the win.
Kaycee Anderson was 2-1 in singles for Virgin Valley.
Cecilia Garcia-Leon and Ashley Palacios each went 2-1 in singles for Desert Pines.
Valley 10, Silverado 9 — At Silverado, Brooke Harding was 2-1 in singles, and the Vikings won four of six tiebreaker games to nip the Skyhawks.
The doubles teams of Olivia Jensen and Diondra Dilworth, and Brooke Arita-Zamora and Carolina Pena-Navarro each went 2-1 for Valley.
Criszelle Castro was 3-0 in singles, and Ari Monturio and Gabby Santiago were 3-0 in doubles for Silverado.
Foothill 10, Eldorado 8 — At Foothill, Lilly Nettles was 3-0 in singles to lead the Falcons over the Sundevils.
Alyssa Miele and Madison Topham went 2-1 in doubles for Foothill.
Kerrigan Holman and Dora Carrillo finished 3-0 in doubles, and teammate Cheyenne Delicate was 2-0 in singles for Eldorado.
Las Vegas 10, Canyon Springs 8 — At Canyon Springs, Geovanna Hilton was 3-0 in singles, and Jocelyn Leyva and Skye Brower went 3-0 in doubles to help the Wildcats edge the Pioneers.
Alexandra Cabrera and Cindy-Ann Faupel were 2-1 in doubles for Las Vegas.
Canyon Springs’ Ma’Jhanae Thomas and Marta Chyzh each went 2-1 in singles, and Abigail Emperado and Johanna Gummel were 2-1 in doubles for The Pioneers.
Cimarron-Memorial 11, Desert Oasis 7 — At Desert Oasis, Tiersa Schultz was 3-0 in singles to lead the Spartans past the Diamondbacks.
Steffi DelRosario and Sabrina Otero were 3-0 in doubles for Desert Oasis.
Liberty 10, Basic 8 — At Basic, Parker Burk and Kayla Whitney were 2-0 in doubles to help the Patriots nip the Wolves.
Paige Blake was 2-1 in singles for Basic.
Green Valley 13, Rancho 5 — At Rancho, Paola Davila and Sydnee Crosby went 2-1 in doubles to help the Gators down the Rams.
Buvaneshwari Sathishkumar was 2-1 in singles for Rancho.
Centennial 16, Legacy 2 — At Legacy, Danielle Mortensen and Michella Albright were 3-0 in doubles as the Bulldogs defeated the Longhorns.
McKay Novak and Miranda Bolick each went 2-0 in singles for Centennial.
Boulder City 16, Tech 2 — At Boulder City, Melissa O’Berto and Taylor Finn each went 3-0 in singles as the Eagles rolled over the Roadrunners.
Moapa Valley 17, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Overton, Holly Rust and Jordyn Ramos each went 3-0 in singles as the Pirates routed the Miners.
Kaitlyn Marshall and Hannah Rust were 3-0 in doubles for Moapa Valley.
Coronado 17, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, the Cougars swept the nine doubles sets on their way to a win over the Dragons.
The doubles teams of Nikoletta Nikoloff and Roberta Padalino, Constanza Perkins and Camille Solla, and Morgan Mastromarino and Samantha Ross each went 3-0 for Coronado. Paris Reese and Lauren Coons each went 3-0 in singles for the Cougars.
The Meadows 17, Adelson School 1 — At The Meadows, Abbhi Klein was 3-0 in singles as the Mustangs topped the Lions.
Sophie Isaacs and Samantha Gondy won their only doubles set for The Meadows.
Clark 13, Mojave 0 — At Clark, the Chargers routed the Rattlers in a match that was halted in the third round because of darkness.
Cheyenne 12, Western 0 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields won by forfeit.
