ROUNDUP: Crusader girls move closer to playoff spot

Nikki Pizzoferrato went 3-0 in singles Friday to help Faith Lutheran’s girls tennis team move into a tie for third place in the Northwest League with a 14-4 win at Arbor View.
Paige Schanbacher and Callie Meinhart were 3-0 in doubles for the Crusaders, who improved to 5-2 in league play, good for a share of third place with Centennial. Both teams trail league co-leaders Palo Verde and The Meadows by two games.
Palo Verde 13, Centennial 5 — At Centennial, the Panthers’ doubles teams took eight of a possible nine points, leading Palo Verde past the Bulldogs.
Palo Verde’s doubles teams of Megan Randazzo and Sarah Sanders, and Jade Powell and Tori Monkarsh each went 3-0, and the team of Brittany Grandison and Kara Grandison was 2-1.
Centennial’s Jordan Sgro was 2-1 in singles.
The Meadows 18, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Taler Brazell went 3-0 in singles to lead a sweep by the Mustangs.
Jenna Palazzo and Shannon Chen went 3-0 in doubles for The Meadows.
Legacy 17, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Jami Oltmanns was 2-0 in singles, and Kaitlyn Mitton and Ashton Evans finished 2-0 in doubles as the Longhorns rolled past the Desert Shields.
Shadow Ridge 18, Mojave 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Kylee Whittle and Kaylee Green went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Mustangs past the Rattlers.
Clark 16, Desert Oasis 2 — At Desert Oasis, the doubles teams of Julia Hagen and Hannah Hagen, and Emily Collins and Zhiyin Qin both went 3-0 to lead the Chargers past the Diamondbacks.
Sierra Vista 14, Virgin Valley 4 — At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions rolled past the Bulldogs.
Spring Valley 12, Western 0 — At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies won by forfeit.
Del Sol 12, Desert Pines 0 — At Del Sol, the Dragons won by forfeit.
