ROUNDUP: Spartans edge Bulldogs in girls tennis

Cimarron-Memorial’s girls tennis team nipped host Centennial in a tiebreaker Thursday, winning 10-9.

Each team won three sets in the tiebreaker, but Cimarron had the edge in games, 32-27.

Kate Johnesee and Starlyn Thomas each went 3-0 in singles for the Spartans.

The Bulldogs’ Taylor Englert and Danielle Plecenik went 2-1 in doubles.

Legacy 15, Mojave 3 — At Legacy, Gen Espino, Halli Cooke and Jami Oltmanns each went 1-0 in singles to lead the Longhorns over the Rattlers.

Nicole Santiwan and Kristan Bachman went 3-0 in doubles for Mojave.

Palo Verde 17, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Palo Verde, Sarah Alamshaw and Maia Bernick each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Panthers over the Mustangs.

Nikki Booth and Shelby Zepeda went 2-0 in doubles for Palo Verde.

Arbor View 17, Cheyenne 1 — At Arbor View, Taylor Savage and Lacy Olsen finished 3-0 in singles as the Aggies defeated the Desert Shields.

Arbor View’s Taylor Bland and Ta’Keyrah Reid finished 3-0 in doubles, as did the team of Alexis Bridges and Beth Ignatiuk.

The Meadows 15, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Faith Lutheran, the Mustangs downed the Crusaders.

Clark 12, Spring Valley 6 — At Spring Valley, Natasha James went 3-0 in singles and the doubles team of Monique Rohani and Carina Chang also went 3-0 to lead the Chargers over the Grizzlies.

Bonanza 17, Sierra Vista 1 — At Bonanza, Christina Smith went 2-0 in singles, and the Bengals cruised by Sierra Vista.

Emily Ruskowitz and Halle Cynoweth were 2-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Durango 17, Western 1 — At Durango, the Trailblazers dominated the Warriors, winning all but one match.

Bishop Gorman 17, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, the Gaels lost only one set in their lopsided victory against the Diamondbacks.

Coronado 16, Basic 2 — At Coronado, Paige Johannessen went 2-0 in singles, and the Cougars used their depth to beat the Wolves.

The doubles teams of Ilyssa Popowcer and Liz Gibbons, and Jordan Bruy and Jordan Luna each went 2-0 for Coronado. Marian Gapultos, Natalie Shibrowsky and Kelsey Kaye all went 1-0 in singles for the Cougars.

Del Sol 14, Boulder City 4 — At Boulder City, Katie Fischer was 2-0 in singles to lead Del Sol past the Eagles.

Liberty 11, Foothill 7 — At Foothill, Ana Lee and Geo Imson went 3-0 in doubles to lead Liberty over the Falcons.

Foothill’s Lilly Madera went 2-1 in singles.

Silverado 12, Tech 6 — At Silverado, Jamie Cope went 2-0 in singles and Gianna Pisano went 1-0 in singles to lead the Skyhawks over the Roadrunners.

Las Vegas 14, Valley 4 — At Las Vegas, Val Shively, Danica Engstrom and Gianna Lopresti each went 3-0 in singles as the Wildcats downed the Vikings.

Cami Fish and Alyssa D’Agostino went 3-0 in doubles for Las Vegas.

Moapa Valley 12, Rancho 6 — At Rancho, Ami Edwards, Noelle Rust and Alyssa O’Toole each went 2-1 in singles to lead the Pirates over the Rams.

Mariah Coleman went 3-0 in singles and Christian Neubaur and Abony Moore went 3-0 in doubles for Rancho.

The doubles teams of Jenna Beaudry and Angel Ordiway, and Gina Delgado and Nicole Russo each went 2-1 for Valley.

Chaparral 13, Desert Pines 4 — At Desert Pines, Chaparral swept the singles matches on its way to a win over the Jaguars.
Kellie Terry, Kiara Miller and Sara Andersen each went 3-0 in singles.
