TENNIS: Green Valley girls top Coronado, win Southeast League
Racquel Holder and Daria Shalina each went 3-0 in singles Thursday as Green Valley’s girls tennis team clinched the Southeast League crown with a 10-8 win over visiting Coronado.
Megan Madrid and Olivia Nhaisi were 3-0 in doubles for the Gators, who secured their fourth straight league title.
Rancho 10, Basic 8 — At Rancho, the doubles teams of Destiny Trujeque and Maiyah Norton, and Megan Sloan and Katrina Hutchinson went 3-0 as the Rams clinched the Southeast League’s final playoff spot with a win over the Wolves.
Buvaneshwari Sathishkumar went 2-1 in singles for Rancho.
Sukajna Chaabi went 3-0 in singles for Basic.
Tech 12, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Sunrise Mountain, Avery Rayos and Lourdes Santiago each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Roadrunners by the Miners.
Malena DiMaggio and Jasmine Munoz were 3-0 in doubles for Tech.
Foothill 14, Eldorado 4 — At Foothill, Alyssa Miele and Sarah Penksa were 3-0 in doubles to lead the Falcons by the Sundevils.
Hannah Bunker was 2-0 in singles, and Caitlyn Stevenson and Abby Wilson were 2-0 in doubles for Foothill.
Cheyenne Delicate finished 2-1 in singles for Eldorado.
Desert Pines 14, Del Sol 4 — At Desert Pines, Ashley Palacios was 3-0 in singles as the Jaguars defeated the Dragons.
The doubles teams of Shelly Alvarado and Cecilia Garcia-Leon, Cassandra Bueno and Stephanie Aviles, and Veronica Palacios and Dori Harper all finished 3-0 for Desert Pines.
Palo Verde 14, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Shadow Ridge, Natasha Scott went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers routed the Mustangs.
Madison Joblin went 2-1 in singles, and the doubles team of Caitlin Covington and Caroline Hawley also went 2-1 for Shadow Ridge.
Faith Lutheran 17, Arbor View 1 — At Arbor View, Carolyn DiPasquale was 2-0 in singles as the Crusaders routed the Aggies.
