Top athletes: Noah Landers (So.), Jarod Swafford (Jr.), Za’Kee Washington (So.)

Outlook: Landers is expected to be one of the team’s best distance runners, and Swafford should be among the leaders in the throws.

Messina said Washington had the fifth-best time in the nation as a freshman in the 400-meter run last year.

“The majority of the team is quite young and it will be a building process,” Messina said.
